He’s having a better rookie year, but I don’t think he quite has LeBron’s potential.

Luka has been impressive, but his lack of athleticism will hold him back from reaching Lebron potential. Lebron was coming straight from high school when he entered the league while Luka has been playing professionally for years. I don't necessarily think he is a finished product (that would be ridiculous), but I doubt he reaches once in a generation superstar level like Lebron.

I watch him and he plays the game with SUCH JOY...

Like he isn't even trying yet but is biding his time.

Dude even has some Marcus Smart in him - in that he makes WINNING PLAYS.....there was one play just recently (can't find the clip on youtube) that he was involved in a play on the ball with an opposing player and the ball was somehow tipped to DeAndre Jordan who was running towards the rim in full stride for a dunk....

Coincidence? Could be. But if Luka wasn't involved in that play DeAndre wouldn't have had that dunk....

When I say he is special it's an understatement. Looking forward to seeing him grow and play in the NBA for the next 10-15 years.

He doesn’t have that kind of athleticism but Luka is going to be a very good player. I’m curious to see how his body develops as he physically matures. His bbiq is phenomenal as is his mentality on the court. Dallas is very very lucky they were able to get him.

He’s the best euro prospect to come out his Petrovic and he might actually be better.

Not today, and while there will come a day when Luka is the better player at that moment in time, it's also unlikely that Luka reaches LeBron's peak or the longevity of that peak.  It's such a high bar to reach, I think it will be a while before we see someone that good again.

For one thing, half the game is defense. Young LeBron was a menace when he wanted to be. Doncic is okay as a defender. This isn’t captured in your stats. Also, Doncic has been a pro for years. LBJ was up from playing against high schoolers.

Ultimately, I project Doncic as a very good player - all star with top-5 potential. Harden seems like a better comp for his ceiling.

Even people who hate LBJ should concede his longevity is amazing. It’s incredible health and talent, joined to hard work and the discipline to take a clear-eyed look at his ability and evolve his game as the league and his body are changing. His style today is so much different to what it was his first few years in the league.

Compare, say, Carmelo Anthony, a guy whose pride, it seemed, would not let him change and who became a dinosaur.

 The athleticism and Lack of upside is a fair point..

 However people are being dismissive that he's putting up better offensive stats in the same amount of time.
