Reading the other thread about the 2018 pick and seeing so many people saying they wouldn't give up that pick for Turner (which I think is insane), got me wondering if anyone would trade this coming Nets pick for Turner?

The pro would be, Turner is a potential franchise center who can block shots, shoot 3's, fit into the starting lineup today but is also the same age as Jaylen Brown so he'd be part of the long term rebuilding plan. Would anyone do it?

As an aside, I don't think Indiana would.

Has this been rumored or something? Or are we just doing lots of hypotheticals with Turner for fun?

Yes -- I'd be a bit nervous about it because it could backfire as I wouldn't trade the No.1 pick for Myles Turner but the odds are strongly against us having that pick so I'd roll the dice and make the deal.

I think Myles Turner would work wonderfully well next to Al Horford.

This thread is totally just a response to the other which, as far as I know, is completely hypothetical. I doubt Indiana would give up Turner for anything less than Anthony Davis, or a player of similar value and there have been no rumors I'm aware of.

Pick won't be traded until we know what it is.

I dont know if I'd do this trade but I don't know enough about Turner. What does he project as?

The top 7 prospects in the draft this year are all guards so perhaps we should flip the pick or trade down.

Why would we do that?

As I wrote in the OP, Turner is a potential franchise center who would fit the team's needs both today and in the future.

Additionally, we have a better idea of what he can be as opposed to the draft which is always more of a gamble, even with a top 3 pick.

No way if it's top three, but outside off that I'm listening.  If it ends up#1 it's not likely anything realistically offered could persuade me to pass on Fultz.  However, I'd trade the 2018 for Turner today.

larry not giving up turner - pacers are building around him & PG

ask yourself this: who is the next myles turner coming along?

the answer to that question will be a lot more attainable - and @ lesser cost
