I would like to take credit for Kyrie leaving, but I could not have done it with a lot of help from the good people here.
Always makes me laugh when people are excited about the prospect of us potentially becoming the Boston Hawks

Small guards don't win championships.

There are only a handful of players in the NBA that do.

Durant, Leonard, Lebron, etc...

Danny needs to figure out how to get one of those players.

Anyone who pays Kyrie $140 million dollars is a fool.
how is kyrie a small point guard?

Players under 6'4" don't win championships. Only a handful of bigger players do. Look at the list of Finals MVPs.

Too bad the only one of those players who is even obtainable (let's just forget that it's incredibly unlikely) may have just ruptured his achilles.

Anyone who lets an All-NBA point guard walk for nothing is 100x more foolish

All NBA point guard? lol

The first playoffs he was injured, and the second he laid down like a dog.

I can hardly wait for this guy to be gone.

You'll see right under 2018-2019 that Kyrie Irving made All-NBA Second Team.

He was oh so alone in his failure to show up against Milwaukee wasn't he?

It literally makes no sense. Why wouldn't you want to resign him just to trade him?? Just terrible asset management.

Not sure why you bother repeating this when numerous posters have shut it down.

How many recent championship teams don't have an All-Star 6'4" or under?

You could be right if KD didn't get injured.

With KD going down and he's only left with 31.5m for next season, Kyrie might go for the money and sign with the Celts.

Celts have the most money to offer Kyrie.

Not sure if you're purposefully ignoring context or not.

Right now the context is KD got hurt and will most likely miss one season.

That means the Celts increased their chances of keeping Kyrie.

Looks like some Celtic fans who don't want Kyrie returning will be disappointed.

LB I respect the hustle but there are a lot of mixed feelings about Kyrie leaving or not. If you really wanna troll people you should say their posts are guaranteeing Rozier will stay.

To answer the question - no... he will not opt in.  It would cost him significant money and the recent rumors are that he isn’t joining Durant anyways.  People expect Durant and kemba to go to the knicks and for kyrie to join the nets - maybe with someone like jimmy butler.

Woj suggested today that kyrie is a lock to leave Boston.  Likely as a direct result of this forum, twitter and reddit.
Do you want the “leader” of the team to be so mentally fragile and be affected by what 10 anonymous online posters think about him? If what Kyrie read online about him from a portion of the Celtics fan base was the deciding factor for him to leave he should seriously reconsider his choice of profession.
to be fair, I wouldn’t call that mentally fragile.  The fanbase has been so aggressively hostile towards him with their misplaced frustration that i wouldn’t hold it against him if he decided he’d rather play for a fanbase that would actually appreciate his efforts carrying a mediocre roster to the 2nd round.

I think it’s absolutely crazy that there are fans who both hate kyrie (and think we are Better without him) AND hate Rozier at the same time.

You can’t have both.  If a fan wants to live in the delusion we are better without our only star, they also have to accept that Boston wouldn’t have gotten out of the first round in 2018 without Rozier playing like a borderline star in his place.  “Better without kyrie” only works if you acknowledge Rozier’s exceptional play in that sample size.

I'd be surprised if even you thought so lowly of Kyrie that he'd go to LeBron and the Lakers with his tail between his legs only to be the 3rd option.

It's not obvious because none of the reputable reporters (Woj and Shams) are not talking about it. That might be why nobody else is

If Kyrie's plan was to play with KD, and KD opts in for a year with GSW now, would KI opt in and wait?  i'd rather him sign an extension or leave...and tbh i'd rather him leave...but anyone think this could happen?
There never was such a plan.

Kyrie stays, AD comes here, then we break the league apart in 29 broken pieces.
