Question: will Grant as a rookie give us more this upcoming season than either semi or yabu will give us or have given us?

He's a High floor rookie with a lot to like.

Yes, immediately.

He's ready to play as a rotation PF already lol. Yabu isn't even good enough to be a high quality third stringer on a good team. Semi should be roughly the same due to his 3 and D skillset though, assuming that Brad doesn't thrust Williams into a major role (which imo he could thrive in).

To be fair, Yabu has never really been given a decent run.

His most active season saw him getting 7.1 mpg. His first year saw 38 players in the 2016 draft getting more minutes. His second year saw 41 players from that draft getting more minutes. Last year saw 35 more players from that draft get more minutes.

He is actually a very nice trade filler/low-risk prospect if he does well at his new team, they can extend him for a bargain rate if they believe in him.

Semi is what he is now.

More often than not there is a reason a player gets 7mins per game

Semi is a better NBA player right now. Better defense and better 3 point shooter. Semi is 1/2" shorter than GW and weighs about the same if not more. Semi is the better athlete. If it wasn't for Morris, Semi would have played a lot more. This is likely one of those cases were a bench NBA player is over looked for a player that starred in college because we saw one more than the other. I honestly don't see Semi being beat out by GW in the rotation unless C's plan on telling GW to add weight and play Center. If that happens we have another Yabu/Sully blend Center and a guy out the league in 6 years.

Semi is probably a better wing defender and maybe a better 3 point shooter, but that is literally it. Williams is a better mid-range shooter, free throw shooter, much better at scoring inside, has a very polished post-scoring game, is a much better passer and is a much better rebounder on both ends.

I like Semi, but Williams is a much better 4.

Agree on all points.  Williams is going to have a good career.  Semi could be out of the league in 2 years.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I find your collective lack of faith in Semi disturbing.
