Irish car bombs today!

Not sure how the mods missed this. No need for that.

I think he meant the drink CM...

There's a drink? An Irish drink that I don't know about? Fair enough if that was the case. With what's been going on lately though you can't blame the reaction.

Anyway TP's all round before I get drunk on Guinness and Kilkenny.

Haha.  Yeah.  When I was in Ireland, the one bartender we didn't have a clue what a "car bomb" was.  We left out the "Irish" part, to be in good taste.

A car bomb is essentially a Boiler Maker.  The beer you use is Guinness, and the shot is Jamison's and Bailey's (although some wimps just use Bailey's.)

I'm trying it tonight. Sounds awesome, how have I missed this?

Irish car bomb is a drink.  2/3 glass of Guiness.  A shot glass of 2/3 jameson whiskey, 1/3 baily's irish cream.  Drop the shot glass in the beer and guzzle it.  It's delicious.  Better than you would think!

just be aware your racing the clock. Its one of the most delcious dtinks ive ever had for the first 30-45 seconds.

Then it curdles, and it tastes like rotten milk and beer.

So what im sayin is, chug chug chug :D

30-45 seconds?  C'mon!  You're better than that!  Shouldn't take more than 10 seconds!

oh i dont need the full 30 hehe, but some...um... less than up front people will tell a first time drinker to let it sit for a minute or two before chugging.

Not that ive ever done that to a friend in a bar who wouldn't speak to me to the rest of the night. ;D

Quick informal question:

St. Patrick's Day music of choice?

Do you go traditional? (Amazing Grace, bodhrans, tin whistles, etc.)

Pop culture? (Dropkick Murphys, U2, etc.)

Or just a mix of everything?
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

Mix! Thats how i roll with all the holidays. There's too much good stuff in the classics and modern pools to limit your options.  ;D

The first time I heard of an ICB, I said, "You want to do what to a pint of Guinness?" But it is delicious.

While speed is a factor, so is steadiness. I advise you not to stop drinking one once you've started it, CM.

Yes, a very good call.  Once the drink goes to your lips, you can't put it down.  It's basically like a big, 16 ounce shot.

Ah, that brings back memories.  I don't think I've ever met somebody who can down one of those faster than me.  It was my little badge of honor.  Yep, I've lived a sad existence. ;)

Today I've gone with a mix of everything.  A little Dropkick to wake up this morning, then Flogging Molly, Some traditional Bagpipes, then back to Dropkick, then the Pogues around topped off with the Boondock Saints theme song for a nightcap.
