It’s silly that Lebron made second team after missing 41% of the season.

Lebron on 2nd team feels like a legacy vote.
It feels like Kobe getting all those all-defense awards. Completely legacy, and really undeserved.

No feels about it. It is a legacy vote.

I think Paul's is a bit of a legacy vote too. I'm not sure CP3 is even the best guard on his own team nevermind 3rd or 4th best in the league, but at least Paul played 70 games and was instrumental in his team having the 2nd best record in the league. LeBron's game slipped, the team was a major disappointment and he was unavailable for 27 out of 72 games.

I get Lebron played the least amount of games of anyone making one of the teams, but it isn't like the All NBA Teams aren't filled with players missing a ton of games.

Kawhi missed 20 and made the 1st Team (72% of team games played)
Embiid missed 21
Butler missed 20
George missed 18
Irving missed 18
Beal missed 12
Giannis missed 11

Obviously James missing 27 led the way, but when so many players missed so many games, it almost feels like they just ignored the games missed and looked at stats, value, etc.  The Lakers were 30-15 in Lebron's 45 starts many of which were without Davis, and they were 27-13 before James got hurt.  He still basically averaged 25/8/8 and had his most efficient shooting season in LA (TS% 60.2) and that includes the game he got injured in and the 4 at the end of the year (bringing down his stats across the board).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Players on winning teams get rewarded. You want to make an all-NBA team? Then get your team to at least a 3rd seed in your conference.

For Lebron, for sure it's a legacy vote and absurd.

CP3 however was in consideration for MVP this season. He lead his team to one of the top records in the league. He earned all-NBA.

The Knicks and Heat at least had winning records. The Celtics were a .500 team with a highly disappointing season. Tatum took major steps this season , but it was a learning process and he needs to take another step next year as a facilitator and leader and get  his team to a winning record.
