yes, the c’s organization and fanbase owe a huge debt of gratitude to danny. for those who haven’t been around a while, he inherited a franchise in disarray, mired in mediocrity. he turned that around (no easy task) and built a championship team. he did it again but was stymied by events and personalities beyond his control.

his legacy will be the bridge he became between the great 80’s team and the resurgence of the franchise in the 2k’s.

thank you, mr. ainge, you will be missed.

In totality, between his playing career and gm, he us one of the most important Celtics ever.

He is also one tough dude.  https://youtu.be/SbT-Iht5-fA

great montage; thanks for sharing (tp to you).

notice in most clips, bird was the first to the scene to help danny? you know those guys loved his fire. it’s probably why jordan said he would have loved to play with ainge and said with a teammate like him, the bulls may not have lost a game.

makes me miss the days of passionate basketball when guys hated to lose and wanted to mix it up. in today’s game, alleged tough guys jaw at each other and wait for teammates on both sides to break it up before it begins. it’s obvious most of these prima donnas really aren’t that tough and don’t want anything to do with a fight.

Quarter of a century with the team is nothing to be sneezed at.

I hope he gets back into broadcasting. Generally laid-back gig, and no matter how the team was going I always enjoyed what Danny had to say.

Thank you Danny!

alot of blame on the celtics failures has been put on him, but alot of it was bad luck. at the time Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward were good signings. its just Hayward ended up getting injured and Kyrie turned into a psycho.

And when we signed Kemba walker he never missed a game. and was a nice consolation prize after losing Kyrie/Horford. He gets here and his knee goes out.

I'm thankful for him. Didn't have the full success we would've wanted, but he righted a lot of what was wrong with this franchise for a long time.

Hoping for the best in this new chapter.

I’m a big fan of Danny and I’ll miss him. Hoped that he’d be involved with the organization for the remainder of his career.  Loved him as a player and I loved many of his moves as President/GM. He couldn’t turn that final corner to bring the current team to legit contention, but DA brought us some excitement through the years and I’ll be forever grateful.   Wish like crazy we could have won in 2010.

Best of luck and thank you Danny!

That would be awesome! Thanks Danny for being the ultimate Celtic as a player and as a member of the front office. All the best to you.
