They cannot give him a max deal, they have no bird rights and no realistic way to cap space. So they'd need to use either early-bird rights or some other exception to give him another deal.

Unless you think they will just let Klay go (and KD would also have to leave).

Yeah, I really don't know what you do at all.

You almost have to offer them both maxes, right? KD is going to get a max somewhere, and if you don't offer it then you're definitely losing him, especially given the controversial nature of the injury. And the same might be true for Klay, though that's less likely. I think you see them still offer it and hope they take it, and then next year you treat as a rehab year for the guys, get under the luxury tax if possible (doubtful), and then try to get Steph as much rest as possible throughout the year.

The Lakers also have to be p---ed about htis, too, as they weren't in the lead for any free agent as of this point, but if anyone was going to LA it was likely going to be Klay lol

Lakers or Knicks for a max deal for a year when they strike out on everyone else this summer.

i think he really really wants to stay with GS ....he seems to have found a coach and team he can contain himself for.   I think he will resign for less money to stay a Warrior.

i think the Laker s are depending on getting Kyrie and Davis ....if not they might not even get Cousins or Bulter.....who wants to be stuck in LA with that disfunctional clown act

Not anything unexpected, but Kerr confirms that they expect KD to miss all of next season due to the injury.

if Klay and KD miss most next season and Cousins leaves .   GS might be a 45 win team at best

Which is expected

Its nice Durant can pickup the player option next season... but a nightmare for the insurance company

They'll be lucky to even reach 35 wins. The West is tough. That conference will belong to the Lakers with Lebron at the helm and pending free agency.

I think it's Denver's or Houston's, to be honest. Especially if the rumours of us maybe trading Horford for Capela are legit
