Makes you wonder how good the Celtics would have been if the Philly pick conveyed and they would have selected Doncic. Oh what could have been.

On the other side, Kings could have selected him and hurt the SAC pick’s high draft pick chances even more. :P

Ayton vs Doncic vs Trae should be an interesting running comparison.

I know Ayton is putting up good numbers for a big man in Phoenix, but is there any chance he impacts the game as much as Doncic, or even Trae?

Just feels like a just-okay defensive big man who puts up points at the rim, draws fouls, and gobbles rebounds but who doesn't have any range can only impact the game so much in today's league.  You need big men to be great at protecting the rim or very skilled at passing and shooting.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Hawks regretting the trade? If Trae becomes a superstar and they hit with that mid lotto pick they absolutely won't, they may even look back on the trade as a win for them. People keep on forgetting that it's a likely lotto pick and Trae for Doncic. With that being said Doncic is amazing.

How come everyone fails to forget that Trae is so far 4th in assists?

He is really really good.  Offensively, he remains me of Larry Legend.  Great court vision and passing skills.
similar height weight and build, same slightly locked shoulders when he shoots the 3 as bird, same slight lack of athleticism, trick passes, good ability to rebound his own shot, etc

Bird 2.0

Kid Will enter his prime in 8-9 years. Imagine as he develops how much better he will be

Bird has a couple inches on Doncic, and a better rebounder (Bird averaged 10 boards for his career).  Bird is arguably the best passing forward (maybe with Lebron) of all time so I won’t go there. Haha

Fails to forget?  His passing has been much better than his shooting.

If he develops.

I am huge Doncic fan defending him when lot of people were calling him overrated and overhyped because he is European. But nobody can know till when a player develops his abilities and if he ll reach his potential. Look no further than the Celtics.

But he realy looks special.(not Bird special though)

Mavs have won 7 of their last 8 including wins over the Thunder (by 15), Utah (by 50), Golden State, Boston and Houston (by 20)... Doncic is ridiculous.  Hilarious how over the Summer some Celtic fans acted like it was unspeakably crazy to trade Jaylen Brown for him.

I'd part with any Celtic for him, I just think it is a better deal.

Mavs got another Euro for the next 20 years.
I am sure there are some happy fans in Dallas.

Next summer give Don another wing, find a center of Mavs future and watch out.

Look, I am as big of a Jaylen fan as there is on this site, but this summer I would have thought long and hard if the deal was Brown for Luka straight up. I would have had to do it, and taken the "Euro risk." I feel that people get nervous about Euro prospects, regardless of their success over seas.

Nobody is forgetting this, it's just a lot of "ifs", just like "the process" in Philly.
