We've already given up 20 points in 6 minutes after giving up 28 points in the 2nd quarter.

Honestly the offense needs to run through Tatum on the bench... Brad already staggers his minutes so he plays with the bench. He’s the only consistent scorer.

People need to give this idea up this year.  Tatum does not consistently show enough ability to find his own shot, create for others, and shoot off the dribble to positively run a bench unit in the NBA yet.

He’s shown far more ability than Smart and Rozier. Half the time offensive plays are running through Smart and tunnel vision Rozier.I’d prefer Tatum take a last second shot than Smart.

Ya as of now Tatum scores most of his points by hitting spot up threes and straight line drives, he probably wouldnt excel trying to generate his own offense. In any event asking any 19 year old rookie to carry a bench as bad as teh celtics is probably aksing for trouble. That being said, he or Brown fr that matter coudln't be any worse that the offesne Smart and Rozier throw out there.

Some of you guys need to understand the distinction between total offense and scoring though, as Smart is a really good passer.  He is a way better passer than Tatum does and he is good at running pick and roll.  He just needs someone to hit the buckets (he does well with guys who can and plays well with Kyrie for example).  Like you say, Tatum hasn't shown much off the dribble.  You need the dribble to break down defenses and create offense.   Tatum isn't ready yet.

Smart is doing a fine job.  No one is expecting him to be the top scorer with the bench, we need other people to score while he passes.  The bench doesn't really have enough off the dribble scoring or three point shooting off the bench in my mind.  That's why I would like Bellineli from ATL.

Smart's a good passer, but any competent defense can neutralize him. Play him for the pass and take away the passing angles - he's not a threat to score, so defenders are going to stay home on their guys. When that happens, Smart goes into one on one mode which plays directly into what the other team wants.

It's amazing how much our poor 2nd quarters from our bench influences such large stretches of the game.

Can we just cut Nader and re-sign Gerald Green at the minimum or something?  We need to address our anemic bench scoring one way or another.

It really is. It seems like we start off games well, but then the bench in the 2nd quarter just totally throws us out of rhythm, which we tend to play catch-up with the rest of the game.

Smart isn't just holding the ball.  He moves it.  He isn't preventing Tatum from doing anything, he's just not ready.

Ya, as a whole there are worse offensive players than Smart. You can say that about just abut every celtics bench player. The problem comes when you have 4 or 5 subpar offesnive players on the court at once as we do. In that regard inserting any one Starter probably wnt solve our problems. We just need indivudals to play and shoot better.

That's the second beautiful move that Tatum has made on the drive but missed the layup.  I'm not worried about the misses.  He's getting to the hoop.  Stay aggressive.

Same can't be said about Rozier. Dude just can't finish, even with wide open layups.

I've asked myself this question every game. A dove dies every time Nader checks into the game.

They should be beating these guys. Less shakiness would be nice...lighten'em up would be aok too. Three threes in a row...nothing crazy...maybe the bear gets on the court...fights with a Grizzly...you know a wild animal thing where the Leprechaun comes out on top.

Jaylen is really bad at forcing contested shots at the rim when he should kick out.
