Probably just assumed. He didn't say Steph Curry was untouchable either.

Honestly if the Pelicans are going to trade one, Davis makes way more sense because he has more trade value given his contract situation.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Since we are probably not making a big trade given our salaries this is probably good news that a team like Toronto or Cleveland can't easily land a star

Why in the world is Marc Gasol untouchable?

Why in the world is Marc Gasol untouchable?

Probably the same reason Dirk is.

They did just fire their coach for upsetting him also.

I don't think woj works off of assumptions. He is just mentioning what he has heard around the league . If he had intel from the pelicans, certainly they would have mentioned Davis

Or, more likely is that it’s already been reported by Woj and others that the Pels aren’t moving Davis this season, and there was no need to revisit old ground.  I mean, he did a feature piece on Davis just three weeks ago where it was quite clear AD is not being traded this season.

Those were three guys people have speculated about being available.

The trade deadline is a ways away things can change quickly in the NBA

Almost every star or good player is "untouchable".....until they aren't.

Well, good for Cs, and bad for teams like Cleveland.

Yep put gasol (who i thought Memphis would try to move) on Cleveland or Toronto or Washington for that matter and the picture changes quickly.

Unless NO can get a Paul George or a young wing in a Boogie trade, trading him would really damage their relationship with Davis. Now that I think of it, a 3 team trade of Cousins to Milwaukee, Wiggins to NO, and Middleton/Brogdon to Minnesota works. Swapping out Milwaukee with Washington/Porter also works

Firing Tisdale pretty much solidified Gasol as a cornerstone unless they can’t win next year with the Conley-Gasol core.
