Some draft rankings:

Sam Vecenie (Athletic):
Nesmith: 17 on his board
Pritchard: 37
Madar: 56

Kevin O Connor (Ringer):
Nesmith: 23
Pritchard: 33
Maar: 34

If those are the rankings we did alright.  Celtics had to take Pritchard a little early because they always planned on trading #30 to the Grizzlies and we got a future 1st rounder for our troubles.

Madar a decent draft and stash with a feisty defensive game.  Let him develop abroad and hopefully the offensive side of him flourishes in Israel.  By the time he is ready to challenge the NBA we should have a roster spot available by then.

I mean according to the tape he looks really annoying to play against.

Not a terribly remarkable draft.  But looks solid enough.  The big question is Nesmith, if he pans out, the whole draft is a success.  If not, he will be compared to the 10 players taken AFTER him.  That's not usually a flattering look.  I mean the Olynyk pick is infuriating to Celtics draftniks for a good reason!!

Someone talk me off the ledge:

Miami is better than us (by virtue of knocking us out)
Sixers are getting better
Milwaukee is getting better
Brooklyn has Irving and Durant healthy
Raptors are always good in the regular season
Raptors best player is 34 years old and about to lose FVV
I'm not feeling very optimistic about things. Obviously free agency has yet to begin. But still, not feeling good!
Miami played above their heads in the bubble
Sixers best players are oft injured and not great shooters
Giannis leaving Bucks after this season
Brooklyn is about to pair a space cadet and a guy coming off crippling injury.

Has anyone seen definitively if Poirier is part of the deal that sent #30 to Memphis? I only saw it from Keith Smith and he messed up the Utah pick portion of that tweet.

We'd better get Nesmith to watch Reggie Miller clips every day

So basically #30 + Poirier for 2 future mid seconds ?

Don't like the trade. Chances are those 2 picks will never become contributors. If so, we basically gave away a late 1st in order to dump Poirier's expiring contract.
Poirier is just a deadweight contract anyway. I'm surprised still managed to get a value out of him.
We didn't. We gave up value in order to dump him.
Early 2nd rounder is more valuable than very late 1st. At least its safer to draft in early 2nd, unlike guaranteed contracts on first on who may not even make the rotation.
I don't think we'll end up getting an early second. The Grizzlies almost made the playoffs this year. Imo, it's more likely we'll end up with 2 picks in the 40s.

(assuming this is the actual trade, cause there's no confirmation yet)

Can we all agree that something seems fishy about Reed? I mean, he's exactly the type of athlete and skill set that NBA teams want right now, and most agreed he was a first round talent. Why isn't he being drafted?

I’m someone who has almost never questioned Ainge and his staff especially never before a drafted play has gotten on the court for C’s but this is a huge miss with not getting Terry with the Prichard pick and picking Bane then to give him away to the Grizzlies. This draft is going to bite them on the ass...mark my words.

Maybe Reed has red flags. But don’t recall anyone predicting him in the first round. He was a back half of 2nd round guy in most mocks (which I didn’t agree with — he looks like Siakum on tape to me).

I worry that Cole Anthony could turn out to be really good.
