As I understand it, in the NFL, cap space actually rolls over like an At&t minutes plan. So the Patriots being $15 million under the cap this season are able to roll that money over into next season. Therefore, Revis' $25 Million hit, if he doesn't restructure, is more like a $10 Million hit. Is that correct?

Actually, not so bad...

Quote
As of January 31 the Patriots have a total of $147,231,728 devoted to projected to be signed or tendered players. The Patriots have $4,616,819 in dead money. $147,231,978 + $4,616,819 = $151,848,547 in total cap commitments. I am projecting that the Patriots will sign all 9 practice squad players and make tender offers to all 5 ERFAs. The 2015 League cap is projected to be $146 million. My current projection for the Patriots 2015 adjusted cap number is $147,879,554. $146,000,000 (Projected League Cap) + $6,442,054 (2014 CarryOver Amount) - $4,562,500 (LTBE/NLTBE adjustment) = $147,879,554. $151,848,547 minus $147,879,554 = $(3,968,993) overage.

Second this post. Miguel has been doing it for years and maintains it religiously.  There is no better source.

The Boston Globe's Mike Reiss opined this in of his mailbags - "As for the best source for the most complete and accurate salary cap and contract information, I recommend patscap.com. It is put together by a devoted Patriots fan named Miguel. While he acknowledges the numbers aren't 100 percent accurate because they are culled together from various published reports, he is very detailed and the site is unlike any other I've seen."

Patscap is 110% tremendous.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.
