The Warriors are on for a historic season but Kerr will only have been there for half of it.

Pop will always be in the discussion for what he does

Dwayne Casey has made the Raptors the second best squad in the East, a marked improvement from last year

Rick Carlisle? The Portland guy?

Or could it be.....BBBBBBRRRRAAAAAAAADDDDD STEEEEEEEEEVEENS

Right now we are 12 wins better than this time last year, 3rd in the East and looking like we can challenge the Raptors and others in the 2nd tier for the chance to be Cleveland's biggest rival. What a leap from last year!

Tell me this could be real?

He should be. What he's accomplished this season is truly incredible.

I think Ricky C should win it.  He has done a tremendous job in Dallas.  It will probably be Kerr or Pop though.  Historic seasons don't happen very often (hence the historic)

Yeah he's an incredible coach. Dallas seem to be fading a bit but it wouldn't surprise me at all if they end up in the 5th seed when all is said and done.

If Kerr wins it some credit just has to go to Luke Walton. Kerr was in his bed for half of it!

I think it's typically a coin-flip between either the top team in the league or the team that's outperformed expectations the most.  For me, I think this year it's got to go to one of 2 overachieving teams -- Portland or Dallas.  I think Carlisle is one of the best in the league but Terry Stotts has done wonders in Portland so I'd lean towards him.  I think Brad has done a great job with the C's -- certainly in the discussion.  Brad probably ends up in the top 5 in the balloting.

He prob won't win but I like what Casey has done in Toronto this season.

Obviously, what Stevens is doing with this Celtics squad is remarkable.

You must be joking. A billionaire with all the money in the world behind him, and he can't do squat.
Plus, did he okay the Rondo trade? That should disqualify him from ever winning.

If the GSW break 70 wins, there is no way this trophy isn't going to Oakland.

Pretty much every NBA team has a billionaire owner.

Amazing that Ainge found Stevens.  He was at Butler and on the big stage but not sure other people were making that hire.   People keep saying we have the best organization and I would say that's true.  Stevens really deserves it. He's a young great coach.

I maintain the only names in this conversation should be Kerr/Walton (as joint recipients), and Popovich.

The Warriors and Spurs should combine to win as many of the annual awards as possible.  Those two teams are just so far ahead of everybody else this season.
