Not sure if this guy is on anyone's radar. But surprisingly, this kid got every tools that we are looking for a big.

- High IQ defender
- Good rim protector
- Agile and switchable
- Can guard pnr
- Can space the floor
- Dangerous in transition
- Can initiate pnr as either roller or handler.

I don't know how high he will be projected in the draft. But nbadraft.net had us taking him at #22. An athletic high IQ defending big should be drafted higher. But that's just me.

I really really like him! His skills paired with his physical tools give him huge upside. And from the few interviews I saw, he seems like a likable kid with a motor.

I mean if everything goes right for him, he has all star potential, right?

Pretty good read, I really hope we can get him with the 20th or 22nd pick

People want a Siakam on this team? Well, I really hope Danny draft this guy. He's the closest in terms of physical tools. And a big with a good passing and handling should be regarded higher by the scouts.

Wouldn't mind taking him at all. A 6'11 guy who can defend out on the perimeter to some degree of success is pretty much exactly what we need, lol.

I just want some length and some shooting!

I'd love him to be our future PF. If we could draft Bitadze at #14 and him at #20 or #22 it'd be a great draft.

And if you liked that stepien article, here's another that's high on Claxton:

I can't evaluate him, except that I see him as a PF rather than a center given his skinny frame.  6'10" w/out shoes, 217 pounds. For comparison, when Al Horford was drafted he  measured 6'8 3/4" without shoes, 246 pounds. He still plays around that weight, and all we hear is that Horford doesn't like to play center because of the banging with bigger players. Even if Claxton adds 15-20 pounds he's going to be light for a center.

When I did my first evaluation of the bigs in this draft I had Claxton as an early second round pick, because I judged him as a center. I do agree that the power forward position makes more sense for Claxton. He'll be a bit of a project as there's a lot that needs improvement, but as a #22 pick probably not a bad spot to take him.

Big time riser through the pre-draft process. Believe he’s the 21st player to be invited.

He seems to be rising up the boards, is 14 to early to pick him? I'm not sure

Giannis was 20 lbs lighter than Claxton when he was drafted. Could he gain muscles and strength like Giannis? Probably not but guys with skillset and length like him are worth a gamble. Nobody predicted Giannis could gain 30 more lbs without diminishing his physical tools.

Another guy skinny guy that comes to mind is KG. He had same weight as Claxton when he came to league and was only 1 year younger.

Claxton hasn't really shown to be a good player. It's more that he has the game and tools to be able to become a good player, therefore he would not be on my priority list. So I would not pick him with #14, unless I would know that the guy I really want would still be available at #20 or #22, but that's a big gamble.

I mean he has shown to be a good defender on the perimeter at 6'11 and was trusted to be the lead ball handler in college. That won't be his role going forward but I think he has shown enough to believe he's more skilled than most players at his size. But I would be more comfortable picking him at 20 as well

Brown also struggled in College. Its about their proper role and how well they are utilized in college.

A big with ball handling and passing capabilities warrants a gamble. Usually, bigs who have those type skillsets are all-star caliber players.
