Fantastic pick and love him with Duncan. Big O was a guy I pegged as a sure fire first rounder.

I agree. When I saw 508's draftboard yesterday, I let him know, I thought it a fantastic pick. Love the synergy these guys could have had with each other. Big O definitely knew how to play along an all-time great player and so did Duncan.

Kevin Garnett was my 2nd choice at the 5th pick after Larry Bird at the start of the draft (with Hakeem 3rd) ... but I got seduced by Wilt's unexpected availability.

I figured KG was only a late first early second pick but I absolutely loved his teamwork and how well he would work with others. His jump-shooting, passing, team defense, man defense and rebounding. He could impact games without needing lots of shots. A fantastic player at impacting without the ball. I thought that was a great quality to build a team around and add some more scorers (or build a top defensive team - or try to do both) later on.

I also loved how he could play against twin towers or small ball. That defensive versatility at PF so valuable.

 And doesn't cause defensive issues for you like Bird or Magic do.

KG is absolutely brilliant in a game like this where he is surrounded by other stars. He can elevate teams in ways that few others (especially non-centers) can.

He's easily second to me in GOAT lists, best peak for all time teams over duncan due to his skillset.

It'll be interesting to see how younger people's team (like myself) will compare to some of the older folks and their team. It'll be cool to see the differences in team building philosophy.

I'll be a freshman at college this fall, so yeah, I'm definitely one of the youngest here.

I like the KG pick.  I think he went right about the right spot.  But #5 overall is interesting.  Were you for or against the Kawhi pick?  KG never put an entire team on his back to a title.  And I think both players have shown they are the kind of player who can adapt to play very well with other superstars. 

I think both players were second rounders, but I can't understand KG at #5 if you don't have Kawhi within +/- 2 picks of him.

KG, IMO, is getting too much love from Celtics fans here.

There are other PFs who are far better suited for this activity, as a building piece.

Limited floor spacing. not a guy to build around imo. Should have gone later.
