Good. We need Memphis to embrace the suck the next 2 years.
You're right, but I'm depressed that 'good news' in the off-season doesn't have impact for another year.  I'm really starting to worry about this C's team for 2019-2020 season.  They could be highly mediocre.

Could really have 2 lottery picks next year.

I'm hoping for a fun team to watch and maybe a team that enjoys playing together...

I am hoping for a confident Hayward that acts like he enjoys basketball and playing in Boston. He seemed lost last year.

Re: the talk of the Celtics being mediocre next year...

It’s amazing. The Celtics were a 48 win team before Irving and Horford, were a 49 win team with them, but are now a 20-30 win team just because they are leaving? Absurd. I think with minimal tweaking the Celtics can win 45-50 games and still lose in second round. The only path to a title next year was getting Anthony Davis and once Kyrie flaked that ship sailed. We are not at ground zero of rebuild again. In fact, we are 5 years into the rebuild with 5 very exciting prospects in Smart, Rozier, Brown, Tatum and RW. We are still a top 6 team in East if Tatum and Brown show no growth and Hayward gets no better.

I think there are the obvious caveats: (1) the East is better now, (2) IT's "King of the North" version isn't on this squad, (3) We now have introduced dreaded "chemistry issues" into the fold, (4) They won't be a 50 win squad.

With that being said, I do think this Celtics team is better than a 30-win squad.

Think they will be around a .500 team...maybe 44 or 45 wins max. 6, 7 or 8 seed. Out in the first round. Front court is the worst in the NBA right now.

Utah is sending Grayson Allen, Kyle Korver, Jae Crowder and draft compensation to Memphis for Mike Conley Jr., league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Good for Conley, good for the Jazz.

They are definitely one of my favorite teams now.

Conley - Mitchell - Ingles - Favors - Gobert is a very fine starting line-up. Easy to root for.

How about #24 for Crowder and Korver.

Would give our bench a big boost. and would only use 15- 16 mm of cap space. leaves us with 15 to get a C

Why?... A team of Utah Hayward, Smart, JB and Tatum is still formidable to me.. Team is not complete yet but I truly believe with Kyrie gone, we shall see tremendous improvement from the Jay team.

Mainly because there is no 'alpha dog' among them but also no real superstars.  Will Hayward return to form?  Will Tatum bounce back from a 'step-back' year?  Will Brown take a step forward?  I love Smart, but he's a glue guy who fits around stars.  Then add:  No center (Baynes is a nice role player, but c'mon).  Oh, and who is your point guard?  Rozier?  I think I made my point: This team has the potential to be mediocre, not bad, but 0.500 is very possible.

Would Memphis do Hayward for parsons + Bradley + crowder + Korver?
We might have to add a pick.
We can totally use veteran presence of the 2 ex Celtics plus Korver

For the love of god can people stop proposing we trade Hayward when his value is at rock bottom.
