Last three Red Claws games double doubles 10,16,17 rebounds --17pts 10 rebounds ,14 points 16 rebounds.

We need somebody high motor crashing boards.

I had something like 10 and 15 last time we played 3 on 3 in the gym last week.
And no one called me up from the NBA, so why would they call him?

I'm joking, I just don't think he is an NBA player, especially with the playoffs approaching.

Yeah but he is a lousy defensive player and a lousy offensive player.

He takes away more in those two areas than he adds in his rebounding.

Well the one thing I'll say is that in terms of him saying all the right things, the quote that I heard from him referenced how he has learned how to better impact the game.
Quote
“I’m better at knowing the things I need to do to be great at that level and help teams win,” Robinson told Boston.com in a phone conversation Tuesday evening.

This is encouraging because when he was drafted by Sacramento he played on the perimeter a lot trying to create off the dribble and was a low impact turnover machine.

I think it's possible Robinson has really refined his game taking out the needless perimeter work and putting on his hard hat. If he's figured out that he can be more valuable putting up 8/8 than 12/4 then he might find a place to stick in this league.

I remember the glorious NBA career of G-League rookie of the year Abdel Nader...

The thing at this point in time is what harm can be had.

Team has been needing another bigman for years.

We have a rookie with a decent motor that can rebound and he gets little if any playing time. BS wants guys that can screen, shoot the 3, do hand offs, and run pick and roll. Yes all that with some average stand in the way defense are his priorities, not rebounding and not a motor.

I'm sure he won't play very much, but with Baynes out for a while and Al taking a few games off down the stretch, we need ANY big body we can get. Theis and Timelord can fill most of those minutes, but Robinson might be able to provide some toughness and rebounding to help us finish out the year.

I would be more reluctant had we not gone into the luxury tax, but with the open roster spot and our need for a big, I don't see any reason not to sign him. I think that is obviously the plan since he was signed so late to the Red Claws. I doubt he sees time in the playoffs.

Yes, we could add another good big, but he has to be a good one.
Bad ones we don't need, if we wanted a bad big we could just name Brad Wannamaker our new center and problem would be solved.

Swap him out for Yabu. Bring him up for the last 5 games and let's see what he can do. He may be just what the doctor ordered.

I agree with your point about g-league stats / accolades but...

Man Nader got way too much hate when he was here.  For someone who 90% of this blog hated he is still in the nba, getting double digit minutes at OKC and being a contributor over there.

TP

Nader has carved out a little spot for himself in this league and has been a bit of a success story for the G-league. And you'd think by now people would realize that one bad season does not equal a bad career.

The jump to the NBA from any other league is enormous. Even blue chip players often struggle in their first year.

As you noted Nader has been decent for the Thunder, his 2pt% has increased drastically to 51%. He's finally making a lot of the shots he was missing last year. The same ones he made previously in the G-league. And he always had enough size and speed to be an OK defender. Not shocking he has stuck around, when you consider his college career and his draft position he's actually a really nice mini-success story.

At first I thought it said 101,617 rebounds. My eyes bugged out! 10,16,17 is still really good.
