Title: Wouldn’t Cavs be better if they didn’t make trades?
Post by: libermaniac on May 24, 2018, 02:34:02 AM
I have to think the Cavs would be much tougher if they had Wade, Crowder and Frye in place of the guys they got at the deadline - who have done nothing in this series, except bait Morris and Rozier into technicals that halted the Cs momentum. Am I right?

IT and Crowder would probably play at a higher level

Rose tended to look good against us

Wade would have done his usual playoff tricks

I agree they would look better. The problem is that  there was huge war in the cavs  locker room. It was the new guys (it Crowder wade rose etc) vs originals (lebron love smith Thompson). Some cavs fans really speculated Crowder and IT were still trojan horses for the celtics

Out of Clarkson, Hood, and Nance I thought at least one of these guys would seize this moment and elevate their play and brand. All three fizzled out especially Hood

I thought going into the playoffs you would get 1-2 games per series where Clarkson and Hood were on fire and looking great, 1-2 games where they were as awful as they have been. Both are terrible and those mid season trades are looking worse by the day.

I mean if they had a healthy IT they would obviously be very dangerous. But it seems wherever IT was his hip would have required surgery before the season ended. Without him, the rest are meh. Before and after the trade.

It’s really just LeBron with Love and the others.

Crowder was garbage there and his playoff performance last year what makes you think he would tough.

I always though Shumpert was a guy who gave us problems with his length and physicality though.

IT would be killing the Cavs on the defensive end.  They’d have no where to hide him and Rozier would be owning him.  At the very least it would cancel out any contribution he’d be making in the offensive end.

George Hill on the end had hasn’t done a bad job on Terry since the end of game 2

There is no IT in this hypothetical.  Trade or no trade, he’s hurt.  He probably wouldn’t be helping anyway.  The team is better as presently constructed.
