It's a simple enough question - would you have made the Philly trade that was reportedly on the table?

And we're not going to argue about whether or not that was the real trade offer or not. I think it was due to being reported by numerous respected sources AND the fact that it was never rebuffed by Philly. However, just assume that it was. I just want to see how many on here were for it, against it, or against it but also would've took someone other than Brown.

Note: we would have had to send some salary back, so it would've probably been something like #3, JJ for Noel, Covington, 22, and 24.

If you voted no, but would've drafted someone other than Dunn, please put in the comments who you would've picked.

It is not an accurate question because there is zero proof that that specific trade was on the table.

I think the Philly offer was pretty fair, personally. All it lacked was the upside potential of a #3 draft pick.

Noel, could be a solid C for the long haul, but contract timing was an issue and adding 2 more 1st rounders would have required some pretty fast trades on the back end. What would we even do with 2 more picks?

Also, I really liked the Brown pick. Definitely worried about whether someone lower becomes the big star of this draft but felt that Brown was the best choice. Just my humble opinion.

Yep. C's need a center and I would have no problem giving Noel a big deal. The cap will continue to go up and the team is still trying to find their core. Yes they could just wait until next year but it's not a given Noel isn't traded to someone else by then.

It's simple, Noel isn't worth the 3rd pick in this draft period. When did he become an all star ? Must have missed that one. And we can still try & sign him next year. The heck with Philly, if they really wanted Dunn they should have offers more that 2 who cares picks & a who cares player.

The trade was basically Covington and 2 late 1sts

We can simply sign Noel to an offer sheet next year and force Philly's hand.

Danny knows what he is doing and trying to do.

It is not an accurate question because there is zero proof that that specific trade was on the table.

Since when does 0 proof equate to numerous nationally respected sources saying the exact same thing?

And, again, read the post. This isn't the place to argue about that.

When did Jaylen Brown become an All-Star?

I think you will see Noel traded for cheaper than the third pick later in the year.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Noel is a good defensive player but has zero offensive game. Giving up a 3rd pick for someone so limited in one way is dumb. The reSt of what Philly was offering was just slop. Covington is bench fodder and the C's didn't need any more picks in this draft.

If the C's really want Noel, they can trade for him at the deadline for just put in an offer sheet next summer without having to give up anything.

First of all DA said in the interview that all the trades mentioned via the internet were bogus and nothing close... second this is a terrible deal ... Basically Noel for #3 and more picks that they dont need... I like Noel but DA is a great GM because he makes the right moves when necessary..

J would have drafted Dunn and just kept him. Then Hield after that.

I have tons of faith in Ainge though. In my opinion celtics fans first mostly share confidence in Danny. If you love the Red Sox , pats, Bruins more, you're more apt to just want a more relevant team and are impatient. The Celtics are the only team in Boston I care about . I'll wait as long as it takes. My only beef is giving these minutes to any player that has basically topped out and has little trade value like , Zeller, jerebko, sully, and I wanna quit this garbage with smart in the corner. Either forget turner or deal smart. He's awful in offense standing around. Same with rozier. Please play these guys. Olynyk too. I'm tired of fighting to win every game playing guys who WON'T €%#{?!'$$$ be here!!!!

The reported trade was untrue.  Therefore, this thread has to stand on its pure entertainment value only.
