Dwayne Wade - the dirtiest player in the NBA - also has one of the biggest mouths. i hate the guy because he is so pretentious. he tries to come off as this kid who just loves to play the game, but he has all sorts of agendas going on behind that facade.

he recently insulted the Celtics (from Chicago FSN):

To be sure, the injury to Derrick Rose helped clear a path to the Heat's title, but Dwyane Wade, for one, wasn't happy to see it happen. The Heat had the East's No. 2 seed, behind the Bulls, until Chicago lost to the eighth-seeded Sixers in the first round. "You just feel bad for him," Wade said of Rose. "We all deal with injuries and every time you deal with an injury, you hope it's not the big one. You hope it won't end your season. So to see a guy like D-Rose, who was battling injuries all year, minor injuries, and then it took its toll. And it was sad to see." ... Wade insists that, as a fan of basketball, it was tough to watch Rose depart early. "We didn't want to see it and we want to play the Bulls. We want to play the best teams."

real class act Wade.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

I am no fan of Wade but I have no problem with these statements.  It is the truth that had Rose been healthy, they would have been the team to beat, not the Celtics.

What should he say, he is glad that Rose got injured so that the Heat didn't have to play them?

In all fairness, he did say he wanted to play the "best teams", as in more than one team (the Bulls).

I don't like Wade either but this is a non-story to me.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Its a slap to the sixers, not the Celtics, if its a slap to anyone.

Personally I think its just an awesome statement in general from a very competitive guy (who is also a bit of a primadonna jerk, but who isn't on the Heat?).

To be the best you gotta play the best.

like that is always lethal." - Evan 'The God' Turner

This doesn't even need a thread! Come on, the guy said what even KG and PP would say, they want to play the best TEAMS!!! That is how you measure yourself, not against scrubs b/c anyone can beat them!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

The Bulls had the number one seed. That makes them the "best" team in the east before Rose got hurt. I see nothing wrong with this at all.

I can't beleive he said the #1 seed was a better team than the #5 seed! What a travesty!

I specifically remember Wade giving all the respect in the world to the Celtics after the conference finals. I really don't think he was really taking a shot at the Green.

Just saying that he was looking forward to facing D Rose, like he might look forward to facing Rondo or D Wil.

What's the point of "playing the best teams" when you have a whole crew of refs backing you up?
