I am hoping that he plays between 30 and 40.  Anything less would probably mean that he isn't "cutting it" in my opinion.....which is not a good thing for us.

I think he is key to get passed Miami.

This estimate is for when both Pierce and Bass are healthy.  I could see it like this:

SF:  PP - 31, Green 17
PF:  Bass - 28, Green 10, Sully 10.

So, my guess for Green's minutes would be around 27.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I bet Green plays 25 minutes, and I'd almost bet that Pierce dips below 30 minutes about as often as he exceeds it. They (hopefully) didn't bring Green in to play 10 minutes at the 4. Man I really, really hope they didn't do that.

Pierce (28), Green (20)
Bass (25), Sullinger (18), Green (5)

That's how I want to see it. How I hope it happens.

That'd really be something if Sully can snag 18 a game.  I hope he does.  If he does, we're probably on to something special.

Small ball when its played will be like Rondo Jet/bradley Lee Green Sully

But i can see him playing 15+ minutes a night at the 3, and at least 10 at the 4 in my opinion. With garnett playing 25-30 mins a night and Wilcox getting 20+ a night as the centre or 4 if need be with melo getting garbage time.

How it most likely happens.

When I first saw the thread my mind immediately thought 28 mins sounds about right.

Spot on

Up to 30mpg max. Most will come (20ish) at the three IMO. I dont think less minutes at the four is necessarily a bad indicator for Green. It could just as easily be that Sullinger/Bass are the main guys at the PF with Collins/Wilcox sharing 20mpg behind KG. All are likely to be better rebounders than Green and that has been a shortfall of ours.

I see a potential lineup with Green and Pierce at the wings. Wilcox and KG up front with Rondo at the point. This would be possibly most valuable against some of the bigger SG's and SF.

The main thing is that he plays effective minutes backing up Pierce. To be the leader of the second unit would also be a good thing, but I think that will be Jet.

Well then you're REALLY gonna hate Doc Rivers this year. t every mention of Green this offseason Doc has gone out of the way to praise Greens versatility and how Green allows them a quicker lineup with him at the 4. So make no mistake, Green is DEFNITELY gonna play at the 4 and the 3 this year and I'd say AT LEAST 10 min at the 4 if not more.
Never underestimate the predictability of stupidity...

My guess is that you'll be disappointed.  I think Jeff will end up spending very close to half his time--if not a little more--at the power forward position.

Get ready.

Also, I see Lee getting some of the minutes backing up the 3.  This leaves more room for everyone to get minutes in the back court.

It's going to be an interesting shuffle for Doc this season, that's for sure.

25 to 30. More minutes when the teams winning. I'm thinking they will take every opportunity they can to rest pierce and Garnett if they're ahead in games this year especially since we have such a young bench. However, doc likes the vets so they'll still get big minutes in close games. I could see a lot of rondo terry lee green bass lineups happening this year.
