Like 26 and 13 in his last season in the G-league. Good productivity.

  • 2019 & 2021 CS Historical Draft Champion
19/12/3 over his G-League career, & played 150 games at Duke including a national title. He’ll likely only be a camp contract, but I like him

Tatum and Brown are better leaders than Hayward, Horford and Kyrie. The team is in better shape now.

I don't remember him.  He is listed as 6'-9" and 222 lbs with 7'-0" wingspan on the G-League web site for the Lakeland Magic although I think the height is "with shoes".  That is plenty of size play PF in the NBA these days.  He has very good numbers for rebounding but nearly no numbers at all for 3-pt shots.  His overall shooting percentage is pretty high on decent volume of shots.

Certainly seems worth a look in training camp (short as it will be).  He may be more useful than say Carson Edwards but it doesn't seem as though there is a spot for him on the final roster.

I suspect he’s just a training camp body who will be cut to get him to the Red Claws.

The shooting stroke looks very pretty.

I think the issue is going to be lower-body mobility.

Good for him, earning a look.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021

6'9" -- 222 lbs --- 7' wingspan (b.1993)

"All academic" at Duke - graduated 2017 (age 24) with a Masters degree. Team captain three years(?). Played in 150 games which is a program record.

Signed with T wolves upon graduation. Got #1 for G-league rebounds in 2018.

Highlights show he has a handle and an occasional 16 footer. He is a rebounding fool and plays a lot of defense.

I agree he is a "G-league tweener" who has no 3 pointer, but this is one thing.

He played in the playoffs for the T-Wolves (converted 2 way to a regular NBA)...and he played "big" in the NCAA's for Duke.

I guess insurance.

Looking at the highlights he seemed like an intriguing prospect - till you realize he's 27.  Maybe he's an 'added depth' guy should they be moving some people in a deal later in the season?
