what is maddening is the continual reference to certain players on this team as bench players. Every darn player comes off the bench. Hayward and Brown are as much bench players as Kyrie Irving is a bench player. The strength of the Cs is their depth. Time to stop referring to Hayward as a bench player.

good to see the team win when Kyrie and Al stink up the joint with their shooting.

takeaways from this series:
- Jaylen is continuing to round into last year's form.  will be a key for us throughout the playoffs.
- Rozier may not be completely useless.  maybe just mostly useless except when we really need a good game from him like today
- Hayward is looking good and will be another big key for us going forward in the playoffs
- I've always liked Thad Young and this series just reaffirmed my opinion of him.  would love him on the C's if we could get him.  a real PF that defends, hits the boards and can shoot a bit.
- Myles Turner continues to be the guy that got away in the draft IMHO.  wished Danny had been able to move up to get him.
- Indy will be a really good team next year with Oladipo back in their line-up

Loved that play when Hayward dribbled outside the perimeter with Turner defending him and then shot the 3. Playing the point, a couple times

Scratch that, it was the play where Hayward attacked the basket, got the lay-up and drew the foul with Turner defending him. That was awesome.

Good that this series ended early...

Now the team goes home and have at least 3 or 4  days before travelling to Milwaukee...Im hoping Detroit atleast wins one so the series extends by another 2 days...If not, is the next game Wed or Thurs night?

Per jpotter33, it looks like it'll be next weekend (Saturday or Sunday)

For all who are wondering, Tim Bontemps is suggesting that if things hold as they are now, we'll play Milwaukee next weekend (likely barring any miraculous series comebacks by Detroit, Brooklyn, or Orlando). That's a great timeframe to allow Brad plenty of time to gameplan for Milwaukee and for our guys to rest up and heal any nagging minor injuries.

Also, glad to see Tatum being alot more aggressive offensively as opposed to earlier in the season.

lol Gordon Hayward....just keep building that confidence. You are the key going forward.

I guess it's a good thing we didn't trade the guy mid-season.

Hopefully Kyrie is back to 100% by by the next game. He looked slower and out of it a bit after that hit he took earlier in this game. Between him and Al throwing up brick after brick, if Hayward and Jaylen didn't step up and make some key shots we would be prepping for game 5.

Fully expected a sweep.  Pacers are 16-23 without oladipo. Excited to see if we can slow Giannis.

Morris and Tatum came up big too!

And I think that's what was so encouraging about the win other than the fact we swept Indy (which is never easy, regardless if they were missing on their star player.)

It was a team win and instead of just relying on Ky and Al.

Man it has been fun to watch him round back into form. He went right at Myles Turner a few times and scored at the rim. Fantastic.

The matchups don't change like they used to, do they ?  Meaning if a lower seed upset, say Toronto, then the Celts 2nd round opponent would switch to the Sixers and Milwaukee would play the lower seed in the 2nd round to match the regular season records. I don't think that is done anymore ?

I think you're thinking the NFL format where the highest seed plays the lowest seed.

It's usually 1 and 8 and 4 and 5 in one area of the tree, while 2 and 7 and 3 and 6 on the other area of the tree. And then in the Conference Finals the remaining two meet.

So if the series starts next weekend, that's about 3 weeks from Marcus Smart's injury (4/7).  Initial reports were 4-6 weeks.  Doesn't look that we'll see Marcus in the Bucks series unless the series goes 6 or 7 games AND Marcus heals quickly.   Pretty disappointing that he's likely not going to be part of this series.

A couple days ago he said he was still “weeks” from running. And that is  before he starts doing sharp cuts and really taking hits and stress to that area like he would during a game. Think of what he does when he goes around picks and dives for the ball.

I hate to say it, but I don’t think we’re seeing him again this year.

Everyone talks about Kyrie "slowing down the offense" and ballhogging late in games.

I saw Kyrie let the offense go through Hayward and Horford late in the game and pretty much act as a "decoy" in the final 5 minutes of the game. Yes people, Kyrie IS a team player. He struggled today shooting (as did Horford) but still found other ways to help.

Oh, and that hustle by Kyrie to grab the deflection and then pass it forward to Horford leading to the Tatum dunk? To me, that was play of the game! (Though honestly there were many possessions in the final 3-4 minutes that deserved it too)  ;D
