IT elected 88 seconds into game for pushing ref (iffy)

https://www.nba.com/video/2020/01/03/0021900519-por-was-isaiah-thomas-ejected

looked aggressive and intentional to me .   not t very smart

Yeah - you're right.  At first I wondered he might have lost balance a bit and leaned his elbow into him accidentally -- but no, it looks more like an impulse push.

Tatum needs layup drills. He's 1 for 9.

Why do I get the feeling that when Tatum gets the ball, no one is going to touch it. Brown and Hayward are finally scoring well but on that play only Smart (who brought up the ball) and Tatum touched it.

Excellent response quarter to that horrid 1st quarter. Now just go out and have 2 more quarters like the 2nd quarter and Celtics should win big, going away.

Well, that was a much better quarter. We can definitely win this in the 2nd half.

Good on us to be this close. Haven't played all that well thus far.

Tatum needs l :-*ayup drills. He's 1 for 9.

He cannot get separation so he ends up taking either a contested shot or an off balanced somewhat open shot. What he should do is get the defense moving by moving the ball or letting the screen game run.

Smart running the floow is coming along. Should get it going in second half.

Celtics team shooting 39.6% -- 3 for 14 from three
bench 36 minutes 9 points

Hawks team shooting 44.2% -- 10 for 25 from three
bench 42 minutes 15 points

Hawks don't really defend, run them ragged inside.

Celtics dominating the boards but only 10 assists on 19 baskets. Not enough ball movement on offense, lots of one on one stuff. Gotta do better than that, though it's understandable given Kemba's absence and Wanamaker not being the best floor general/shot creator for others.

Because Tatum can almost be described as a black hole at this point in his development.

we'd be well ahead if Tatum could at least hit layups tonight
