Brown has been quite disappointing on defense this season. While his offense has blossomed, his defense has regressed. He seems to constantly be caught out of position, and falls asleep on backdoor cuts.
On cue, Jaylen makes a great defensive play and goes for the flush.  Now he looks energized.
It's so bizarre. It's obvious he can be great when wants to be. Consistency needs to be worked on.

OK -- terrible overall so far, but I think we are the midst of seeing Jaylen Brown decide to take over a game.

Brown's play at end of quarter sparks a run to start the second.

To be fair, he was ill and was a game-time decision to go.

Well Hayward/Brown/Tatum are 2-14 so far, so I may be going out on a limb but if that doesn't change I dont think the C's win.

Ya I think he's been pretty good this year overall on defense. If I had to make one criticism its he has gotten into some foul trouble at times, and when he does he drops the defensive intensity which is understandable because the C's need him in the game. But he has to cut down on ticky tack fouls.

Brown has been our most consistent player the whole year.  I don't get your comment at all.

In some alternate reality where the Celtics didn't land Kemba, I would have been okay with a Smart/Brown backcourt.

Me too, and I love Kemba.

Nice start to the 2nd. Back in the game.

I just wish this team could start games better. So many times they start off super slow or sluggish.
