Tie between Chappelle Show and old school SNL ('75-'80) for me.

Tough call for me.  Don't know any of the more modern shows. SNL has launched so many great careers that I think it has to get my vote -- I know the early casts well, but the last 20 years not so much.

I liked Carol Burnett, especially when Tim Conway and Harvey Korman were in sketches together.

A Hall of Fame vote for Your Show of Shows, perhaps the original great ensemble TV sketch comedy.  Sid Caesar, Carl Reiner, Imogene Coca and Louie Nye -- amazing trailblazing show.

SNL simply because of the cast, they recruit the best of the best. Chapelle is darn funny but it's one dimensional.

The Kid in the Hall is my favorite television show of all time, regardless of genre.

SNL would've gotten my runner-up vote.  That show gets unfairly picked on (I've been hearing, "it used to be good, but now it sucks" for over 15 years now).  SNL has created some timeless characters.

Other great shows that weren't on the list:

Upright Citizens Brigade
Mr. Show
Tim and Eric's Awesome Show
The Whitest Kids U Know

Oh, you children!   ;D  The all time best comedy skit show was "The Carol Burnett Show".

I agree 100%. TP. I said it earlier. If you've never seen it, try to find it somewhere on the net or DVD if possible.

My top three:

1. Mr. Show

2. Carol Burnett (I haven't seen or thought about it in years, but it used to have me rolling)

and a distant third
3. Kids in the Hall

Does anyone else remember Tim Conway's recurring character in sketches on the Carol Burnett show named Mr. Whipple(pronounced by Conway HA-wip-pull). Conway in that character could stay as straight faced as anyone ever doing comedy and usually had Harvey Korman and Carol Burnett bursting out in laughter live on TV while trying to perform. Absolutely one of the funniest recurring skits ever.

The Whitest Kids U Know is pretty darn funny. You beat me to it as I was going to list them as the best CURRENT sketch comedy.

Whitest Kids You Know is very hit-or-miss, but they've had two of the absolute best sketches I've seen in a LONG time.  Won't link to them so Jeff doesn't get p---ed, but if you're inclined, search for "Slow Jerk" and the uncensored version of "Weird The Stripper."

For me the best sketch comedy show isn't even listed that that is SCTV. That had John Candy, Eugene Levy, Martin Short,Rick Moranis, Dave Thomas and Catherine O'Hara etc. It was very influential, with many great charters and was funny as hell.
