Miss Piggy.  She is a short, plump diva who loves the Green (in her case, Kermit) with a passion.  I relate.   ;D

Those heckler guys are named Statler and Waldorf. C'mon people.

Was Charles Grodin a muppet? If not, then I'll go with Gonzo. As for the Muppet babies, the best episode they ever did was when they tried to remake Star Wars on a shoestring  budget. They should have got the Nanny to be Darth Vader, though.

Edit: What's the Cookie Monster doing on there? If you include him than you should have to include the whole Sesame Street universe! We're talking Big Bird, The Count, Oscar, and maybe even Gordon and Mr. Hooper. No, it has to be all or nothing.

i'll never understand how the muppets can be cancelled and a show like "friends" is hugely successful. i did'nt even wanna call my own friends "friends" while this pile of dung was on air. had to switch to "pals" or "buddies". muppets rule.

what if you did'nt MAKE the muppet show or sesamme street though? bet there are a lot of nagging muppet wives that don't feel provided for. it can't be easy  to grow up muppet.

It took me 3 or 4 times reading this to figure out what you were trying to say, but you make a pretty solid observation. I will point out that Bob Ryan has made a decent living without help from Sesame Street or the Muppet Show, all the while being half muppet.

I've been to the set of Sesame Street (we won 4 passes to a taping in 2005 and took the kids on 12/08/05). We met Carrol Spinney, he is the originator and still main person for both Big Bird and Oscar.  The man is a legend and Oscar sang I love trash w/ my kids.

sometimes you have to bite your lip, exhale and move on.  So, I have.

I'm surprised that there aren't more Kermit fans here.  After all, he is the GREEN Muppet.   I used to sing his "It's not Easy Being Green" every day through the Celtics lean years.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpiIWMWWVco

I made my daughter (2 years old) a DVD with Elmo and other Sesame Street character clips from Youtube. Every time "It's not Easy Being Green" plays, she walks out of the room or asks me to turn it to another clip.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.
