And so Celticsblog's effort to take over the basketball world takes another step forward. We've now got our guy working on the inside. I am sure it's probably just a matter of a couple of more years and we'll soon be seeing the overthrow of David Stern with Commissioner Weinman taking over and setting things straight.

Seriously though, it sounds like a dream opportunity for you Steve. I can't wait to hear about your experiences if you happen to stop by from time to time. I'm going to miss the Babble and I am sure  speak for all in saying you will be missed.

Good luck with everything!!!

Done.

You owe me money.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Marketing? Thatīs the dark side, steve. THE DARK SIDE!

Soon thereīll be pictures of the Guru`s son snorting cocaine from the back of supermodels on the interwebs.

I pity you.

(just kidding, good luck with everything you do.)

Thanks, Steve. You'll be missed, but you've been given an amazing opportunity. Good luck.  ;)

Best of luck Steve!

I'm a little out of the loop...where is Steve off to?

  • Basketball is like chess, only without the dice
Just read the announcement on the front-page and was looking for a thread about the issue; well done ACF for starting it.

Steve is one of the basketball writers that helped me more to advance my knowledge of the game and of the NBA in particular. Not only that, but the high quality and creativity of his writing - I'd say there was a particular touch of genuineness to his writing - made some of the best basktetball related articles I've ever read (curiously, among my favourites are many Babbles not directly related to the Celtics or the NBA - always thought Steve was at his best with more "intimate/personal" articles). Oh well, he'll be missed - here's hoping that sooner we'll be able to read him again, even in some different outlet (the NBA site? that would give me a reason to visit it more frequently).

Much obliged, Steve Weinman!

Co-sign.

Steve brought a rare blend of objective basketball knowledge and Celtics fandom to this blog that will be missed this summer.

Selfishly, I'd like to have him back here next season but I can't bring myself to hope for anything less than a career for him with the association. He'd be an asset.

Best wishes to a good guy and a great writer.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."
