Our guys, and our coach, need to campaign more for calls. Something isn't working, we get zero respect from the refs. That was disgusting.

I've been calling for this for years. Brad simply has to work the refs more. Virtually every other coach in the NBA throughout history has done more working of the refs, but he simply refuses to do it (or really much else in-game management) during the games, even when we're getting hosed like tonight.

It's astounding how such a seemingly good and smart coach has such glaring issues in his in-game management. Not sure he has the right temperament to coach in the NBA.

Mediocre coached game by Brad. Mediocre discipline by the players defensively. Mediocre games by Kemba and Tatum offensively. Mediocre performance from the refs.

That's generous.

Brad should gotten tossed out for screaming at these dumb refs. Look at Dantoni screaming all night!!!!

+1....tonight was totally worth getting throw out for, plus as many naughty words as possible.  Just once ONCE Brad get really p---ed off / red in the face and let down your guard :)

I've been saying it since Brad got here. He needs to learn to work the refs,

65 free throws combined between the two teams.  This is your product, NBA?  You think people want to see this?

It was so miserable to watch, I found myself washing dishes or flipping to CNN for stretches mid-game

Yeah, who wants to watch that? No wonder why ratings are down.

This would've been the perfect game for Tacko. I wonder how many layups Houston has over him and how many layups on the other end Tacko gets.

theis was bad tonight

Celts needed a rim protector in the worst way tonight

Harden tranced the CElts on the outside and RW attacked the basket at will

Celts focused way too hard on players like House, Tucker etc.

let them make the 3s all night.  Just don't let Harden and RW get going

I watched the second half and it was just a bad game for us. Sure the Rockets might not play the most entertaining style of basketball (it's entertaining to me but it seems like it annoys a lot of people here), but you can't just bite on every pump fake and let them draw fouls as well as not attack their weakest defensive players on offence (seriously not going at Harden when he had 5 fouls?!).

Terrible coaching by Brad

Harden has 5. You attack him

You post up RW

Yup. Blows my mind how Stevens didn't recognize the situation.
i am sure he did. but the celtics players didnt seem to want to attack him consistently.

According to Adam Himmelsbach of the Globe they tried but failed?

Quote
When discussing Houston’s small-ball approach in recent days, Celtics coach Brad Stevens frequently pushed back, pointing out that Houston’s frontcourt players are strong and built like linebackers, and it can be dangerous to believe you can just post them up because they’re not as tall. Enes Kanter, who has had success overpowering opposing big men, found this out the hard way in the first quarter, when he was simply unable to move P.J. Tucker before throwing up an 8-footer that missed. Kanter figured to be a defensive liability in this game due to the personnel differences, and he played just eight minutes and had 3 rebounds and no points.

Looks like this team isn't ready to compete at the highest level yet, sigh.

They recently beat LAL, Miami, Philly and OKC but because they lose to Houston in Houston on a night the refs gave Houston 42 FTs, the Celtics suddenly aren't ready to compete at the highest levels?

Are you kidding me with that shhhhhstuff?!?!?!
