I'm holding out for KP and Hayward.

I'm also holding out for Fultz Porzingis and Hayward

Honestly though, if we essentially trade #1 (which is now #3 + 2018 LAL Pick), Crowder and filler for Porzingis, I'll be kind of upset.

Why not just draft Fultz in that case? Or trade #1 to the Knicks and NOT gift Philly Fultz..

So Tatum and a resigned Olynyk it is, then.

People actually suggesting trading #3+ for Paul George with the "hope" he stays long term.

ARE YOU PEOPLE OUT OF YOUR MINDS??
My assumption is that Ainge and/or Celtics players have already talked to George and his people about this.

The Celtics aren't going to make this kind of deal unless they are absolutely sure that George will stay.

Because Porzingis has already proven his worth and will probably end up being better than Fultz.

Giving up #3 for a guy on a one year deal would be borderline insane. ainge simply cannot do that.

There is absolutely nothing PG can tell ainge that should make a difference. He's not bound to a single thing he says now, even if he actually means it. Plus, he'll say anything to get out of Indy now and onto a contending team.

Is PG going to be hot to resign here if 2018 doesn't go well? A couple injuries wreck the season and then Lebron decides to go to LA? Just like that we've lost our #3 pick with absolutely nothing to show for it.

ainge is a moron if he gives up a pick that high for PG.

But will he be better than Fultz AND the Top-5 pick in 2018 which is very likely to be a franchise changing big man.

Any chance that Ainge really has no interest in PG, but is letting it leak that #3 is for sale to push the Knicks along on KP?

Agreed.  They can have Crowder, Zeller, Yabusele, Clippers and Grizzlies pick

Then sign Hayward

Find a deal for Avery that would cut some salary (#11?) take Markannen to replace Kelly

IT
Hayward
PG13
Horford
Zizic

Jaylen
Marcus maybe
Terry maybe
#3 pick
Markannen
bunch of vet minimums
etc.

That team could beat Cleveland depending on Lebrons decline.

Cannot make a deal for George unless you have an extension or commitment from him to stay

If it is just 3 (and filler), I'd be ok with that, though that means signing a free agent is far less likely.  At least Ainge will have picked a direction and is giving it a real shot.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I'm very confused on this potential deal. I understand that a team can ask for permission to talk to a player that is under contract, in a situation like this. If the Celtics are willing to deal the #3 pick for George, then I would assume George would have to agree to sign an extension with Indiana first, with the guarantee that a deal is in place to be traded to Boston. Due to the potential complications, I would assume a deal of this magnitude wouldn't be completed tonight. Does the CBA (or players union) disallow this practice of players already under contract to agreeing to an extension before being traded? It's not like George is a free agent, where that would have been a typical sign-and-trade.

All-in. This is why you get SO many picks.

#3 + LAC19 + MEM19 for Porzingis
Sign Hayward
LAL18/SAC19 + Bradley, Crowder, Rozier for George

Now we're at:

IT/ Hayward/ George/ Porzingis/ Horford
bench: DJax, Smart, Brown, Theis, Yabusele, Zizic, #37

...and we still have the Brooklyn pick next year & no Bradley to re-sign.

I still don't see how we pay everyone next summer, but [dang], not my money. That's a team that would win a *championship* and then get the #1 pick.
