Very comprehensive routine.

Personally I like to mix it up a little more with body weight exercises, bands, HITT etc, but this routine will really help your mate get some much needed structure into their life.

Have you thought about splitting the push & pull sessions with legs? So you give the upper body a little time to recover between sessions.

Your 3 training days would look like this:

Day 1 Push
Day 2 Legs
Day 3 Pull

Yeah I’m not too strict on the order. That would work.

TP for sharing and best of luck to your friend. Something like an exercise routine can really help in his situation because a big part of it is changing routines and habits. I hope it sticks.

Are you a certified Personal Trainer? I am wondering because it seems that you enjoy exercising and using that as a method to connect with people to help them live a better life. If that is you, the YMCA can be a great place that has great programs to connect with the person. I don't know about the Boston area, but there are YMCA's in the mid-West that have programs for military families to be active and exercise together as a brotherhood. There's LiveStrong which is an exercise program for cancer survivors. There are teen programs to teach them how to exercise properly.

Just putting it out there in case you are looking to go to a place where you can impact people's lives and share your knowledge.
