Here's what games are left (basketball-reference hasn't updated the Laker loss yet) and the standings:



How many wins do you think for 2nd seed? 55? Obviously depends how well everyone else goes but if we used last year as a guide we were 2nd seed at 55 wins. So for our last 28 games we need to go 20-7.

Top tier teams we still have to play are Sixers twice (away), Bucks (away), Toronto (away), GS (away), Houston (home), Denver (home), and Indiana twice (home and away). Plus some tough games against Detroit, the Heat (twice) and the Wizards (twice).

Assuming we lose all the away games against top tier teams that's the 7 games we can afford to lose for 2nd seed, assuming we need 55 wins.

How many wins do we need to maintain 4th seed? If 4th seed is 50 wins then we can drop another 4.

This LA loss was a big loss. There's not that many "gimme" games against lesser opposition coming up. This final stretch is where we see what they are made of.
