just over a 1/3 of celtic shots are 3 pointers. not excessive. indiana has a higher percentage of their shots as 3 points. but they are making them.

Continue to just jacking threes. Absolutely no adjustment from Joe.

again, indiana has taken more threes than the celtics. the problem is not taking 3s. the problem is more not making 3s.

Something is up with this team. You have players sitting out games and no one has any explanation as to why they look this bad? No one really bothers to ask either. Last year was last year.

Feels a lot like v. Orlando when we played a high energy stretch, caused misses and TOs but couldn’t really make up much ground.  Cs have taken all of 2 points off the lead.

If you're doing something that isn't working, you find another way to win. This is the Brad offense all over again. They look undisciplined.
Still don't believe in Joe.

i see very pretty lazy defense by boston. i also see a lot less passing than usual. and i also see some p--- poor shooting on top of all that.

just bad playing and execution by the team.

If the team ever decides to put up a statue outside the Garden for Coach Joe, the sculptor will have a very easy time creating his likeness since he looks pretty much like a frozen statue most of the game. I'm starting to wonder is he simply has no idea what to do when the team struggles.

25 - 2 run by Indiana !!!!!!

I’ve been giving Joe the benefit of the doubt when it comes to his no timeout” policy. But man, you need to adjust at some point! It was 11-5 when Indiana called a timeout. Joe waited for them to go on a 15-0 run before calling his own timeout.  And now here we are again playing catch up. It’s fine to “let the guys figure it out” but there has to be some balance when the other team goes on an insane run. It’s just so frustrating.

He's an immature yet dogmatic in his philosophy coach at this point. Not a great combination. Very concerned about him going forward with this major 180 we've taken.
if you think a lack of time outs is the reason for this catastrophe tonight, then we disagree. how did the celtics do after their time out? everything solved on defense and they started making shots?

no.

the problem is more than timeouts here.

Yes I agree with you. It’s not just calling timeouts. But, if your philosophy hasn’t been working for the past few games, then maybe you should try something else. Adjust. His insistence on “letting the guys figure it out” shows his stubbornness to adjust…to have a plan b. And that for me is concerning. I mean, we can’t just wait for our threes to start falling again. This roster is too talented to rely on threes.

I didn't say anything about timeouts there. This is all about his "no three is a bad three" philosophy. It's clearly something he is sticking with and not adjusting to even though it's killing us right now.

Regarding the timeouts, when you give the other team that much momentum before calling a timeout or trying to do anything to curb it, of course that strategy is going to be less effective. Perhaps if he was more proactive from the get-go we wouldn't have to play from behind against the other team's momentum so often.

But that's the problem. He doesn't seem to know how to adjust, and he's admitted how dogmatic he is in his approach, explicitly arguing that there's no adjustments that need to be made.

Exactly. We're shooting 16% from 3. We're not getting the open 3s we were when guys were moving the ball. Back to hero ball.
