i saw this on the nba fastbreak too

hard to imagine tho...

didn't he leave the NBA to Europe for the money they offer him ?

the best Celtics can do is offer him full MLE

i would think he wants more than that

I watched a lot of Childress games at Greece, particularly the Finals against Panathinaikos (wich they lost) and he sucked.
He isn't the dominant player Olympiakos was expecting him to be. He's a middle class boy that doesn't fit Danny's mold of a gritty, "pitbull" kind of player (Glen Davis, Avery Bradley, Luke Harangody, etc.).

By the way, Panathinaikos's 6-11 center Nikola Pekovic that Minnesota just signed could be very good in the NBA.

  • Rondo = Good
For those basing their opinions primarily on his performance in Europe, remember that the European game isn't necessarily kind to players without a consistent jumpshot and rock solid fundamentals who rely heavily on speed and athleticism.  Childress was a pretty good player a couple years ago in the NBA and I imagine he'll be more disciplined after playing for Olympiakos.

Brandon Jennings barely produced over there but once he came here he was unleashed and scored plenty.  I wouldn't be surprised if Chill had a similar reawakening in the much more open play style of the NBA.

Who said Ray to cleveland for the mle? That makes zero sense, he clearly prefers boston and we would obviously offer him the MLE.

We don’t have to offer him the MLE, we can sign Ray Allen and still spend the MLE on other guys.

Why all the excitement over Childress.  He wasn't even that good when he was in the NBA.  I don't get it.  And he didn't impress overseas either.

Any SF that can`t hit a 3p with consistency wil suck in europe.

Anyway the papers here mention  than JC has an offer from Clippers for a 5y contract.

If I had guess I would say that this move has to do with trading Sheed's contract.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I'd rather trade Sheed's contract for someone better.

I feel there are better bench players out there and would hope danny is looking at him only if some other deals fall through

I don't like him too much. If we are gonna use the MLE on SG/SF type, I'd like someone that can shoot and not just the more athletic version of Marques Daniels.

The problem is most of the better players teams are willing to give up in a salary dump make more than the 6.5 mill Sheed is set to make.
So we'd have to trade Baby to get them.

I prefer Quisy to Childress unless his game improved in Greece?

Just watched the recording of NBA Fastbreak and herd Bucher say he got a cryptic message that Childress is going to our green.

What is a cryptic message?
