The scenario is that it is a year and a half right now.

Gordon Hayward has returned to form, opted out of his contract to renegotiated a team friendly 4 year extension, and embraced his role as full time modern day Ginobli 6th man.

Jaylen is re-signed and he and Tatum have solidified into a legitimate  All Star wing tandem rivaling Kawhi and Paul George.

Kemba is the straw that stirs the drink and Smart is the modern day Iguodala.

Ainge knows that there is one final move that ties everything together to championship contender status. He has to acquire a big man. Resources are nearly dried up but he can pull off a trade using expirings and prospects, it might take a sacrifice on the bigs part to join a contender.

Which Vet big would you target to complete the championship contender.

Note: This is more of a team and system fit discussion. We cannot afford a young top big. Think David West joining the KG Celtics to put them over the top.

Note 2: Some of these options like Love, Drummond and Griffin would require giving up more parts of the core than someone like a Mason Plumlee.

What do you think?

Robert Williams III is already on the roster...

Just saying.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021

I don't think any of those guys fits our team, cap, or timeline. A few might bring skills that fit our system, but would take too much from other players.

We need a guy or two to develop within the system.

I'll add it but I feel like most people would pick Turner.

This was kind of more designed to be a short term kind of signings, like what Toronto did with Marc Gasol this year.

But then maybe our assets might still be enough even with all of the signings. I don't think Indiana will be looking to move him though.

KAT.

KAT is not attainable in this scenario.

That's a different thread friend.

Clint Capela

Added.

Doubt he's attainable after the Westbrook trade but in theory that's a good one.

Good point should have had RW III from the beginning.

Think Capela would be a great fit here
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Also should have been an option from the start.
