And How About Those Old Dominion Monarchs!!

ODU beat VCU and Larry Sanders Sunday night and William and Mary last night to win the CAA and the Automatic Bid to the Big Dance!

There was a thread a few days ago about our 2010 potential draft pick and there was some mention from posters and (myself included) about Larry Sanders. Sanders is Good, but Gerald Lee outplayed the man Sunday Night and picked up Tourney MVP.

Lee is 6'10 and 250 pounds..not the best rebounder, but in fairness to him the entire ODU team is known for crashing the boards, so I can't knock him too much for that. The guy has a pretty good outside shot and is very craft inside. He's played Center, PF and even some SF for ODU this season.

I like him and wouldn't mind seeing him slip into Boston's grasp in the draft.
I watched both CAA semi's on Sunday and came away thoroughly unimpressed with Larry Sanders when he had big game pressure put on him

Both games were very entertaining
Pick 2 Knicks

PG: George Hill, Ty Lawson
SG: Ray Allen, Anthony Parker, Quentin Richardson
SF: Grant Hill, Matt Barnes, D
PF: Zach Randolph, Kenyon Martin, Jon Brockman, Dante Cunningham
C:  Nene Hilario,   Own rights: Nikola Pekovic IR: Kyle Weaver

I absolutely love conference tourney week.  Almost as much as week one of the NCAAs.

Was geared up to get tickets to the Big Ten Tourney this year then found out that its in Indy and not Chicago this year.   >:(

  • Be the posts you wish to see in the world.
Look out for Siena and Cornell in the first round - Siena's won games in the tourney each of the last 2 years, and Cornell gave both Syracuse and Kansas a run for their money at home.  Both of them will probably wind up in the 12-13 seed range, where their opponents won't have an overwhelming athleticism advantage.

There's always a 12-5 upset.  Siena would a good pick for that.

'Cuse goes down in the Big East tourney.

Limping into the NCAAs?

Thankfully, the Virginia Cavaliers just put my BC Eagles outta their misery.  Very disappointing season.

I just don't know if Kentucky is consistent enough to all the way.  I've been hot & cold on them all season.  Solid squad but I have some question marks.

Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, and Syracuse get the #1 seeds.

Kansas may have the #1 overall seed but they have a tough bracket with Ohio St, Georgetown, as well as a few others in there.

Kentucky-West Virginia as a potential Elite 8 matchup would certainly be a good one.

Where's the 12/5 upset gonna happen this year?  Utah State maybe?

Funny, I was think just about every 12 seed has a real good shot at winning their opening round

UTEP over Butler would be my for sure 12/5 upset though followed by Cornell over Temple and then Utah St over A&M

Even New Mexico State has a chance against Michigan St

Also, West Virginia better watch out for Morgan State

I have only seen a few snippets of College Basketball this season but I think Kentucky will win.

I'm not wild about Kansas. They have good individual talent and balanced individual talent but I don't think they're that effective as a collective. Their point guard doesn't run the team well enough. Nice scorer, good defender, but not a floor general.

I think Kentucky have better balance with their guards + the big fella in the middle + that power forward guy. I know some of the names. Okay, not many.

I just took a glance at the NCAA Brackets...I Love It ;D.

For the Virginia Folks, just Think about the Potential Sweet Sixteen Matchup in the South Bracket in Houston:

Old Dominion Monarchs VS Richmond Spiders!!

Sweet!
