Yeah, same injury as Giannis as expected. The grade of the strain is the biggest question and will dictate how long he’s out.

Hopefully it’s just a week to ten days, which we could manage pretty easily.

Doesn’t say much though. I mean mild could be back in 2 weeks or could be like Giannis out 3 weeks later.

The J’s have been a bit average the last few games offensively. Time to step up.

Also need Hauser and PP to really need to give you some offense.

If Celtics wrap up Heat series in six games or less and Magic/Cavs series doesn't go seven games, C's would host Game 1 of Eastern Conference Semifinals on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.

Need the Magic to push this to seven games and have a miraculous game 7 win in Cleveland. That’d probably put us at starting the next round on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

If we go by the word (soleus strain) it's pretty much the same as Giannis' injury, so I'd say 2-3 weeks. Honestly, that's best case scenario. Definitely would be out the 2nd round but potentially back by the ECF. Giannis looks like he's trying to come back today, and today is about 3 full weeks after he got hurt in the Boston game.

We should be able to get to the finals without KP. As long as he's not out for the season, they're still got the best shot in the East to win it all.

Still don't believe in Joe.

Am I cocky for thinking we should be able to get through the cavs/magic and even Knicks without him if need be?

Re: Porzingis: KP suffered the same injury that is currently keeping Giannis sidelined. As I mentioned then, the soleus is a part of the calf muscle complex.  The average time lost for strains specified as a soleus injury is ~17 days (6 games). Read more here: instreetclothes.com/2024/04/09/und…

I think I’d take 17 days at this point.

What??? I was always under the impression that if a series has a NON-Game 7 finish, they are awarded MORE than 2 days off until the next series. It's only if they go to a Game 7 that they'd be forced to play two days later for their next round.

So even if CLE/ORL finish their series Game 6 (Friday night) they are forced to play less than 48 hours later for a new round??

I always assumed the series would start Monday or Tuesday next week. Guess not, maybe Tuesday is Game 2 then

So, from a scheduling standpoint, the Conference Finals are set to begin May 21-22 but could potentially move up to May 19-20 depending how second round series go.  So the 19th puts us a tad shy of 3 weeks from now.

No matter what, NBA Finals don't start until June 6th.

So, depending on the severity of this strain, some key dates to keep in mind.

Its the same injury Giannis had. Obviously timetables can depend a lot on the severity of the strain which we just don't know, but given that Giannis has missed about three weeks now I'd say its pretty likely KP will be out through most if not all of the next round.

Which is fine. They can/should beat Cleveland or Orlando without him.

We could. Admittedly I feel a little iffy about ECF because NY looks good and we may need some firepower against them. We DEFINITELY need KP for Denver or Minnesota in the Finals though, no questions asked.

ABC & TNT have Sunday time slots to fill.  NBA is going to showcase games one way or another on Sunday.

We've seen in the past where first round Game 7s and second round Game 1s have coincided.
