I think a lot of teams would want Crawford in particular.
You do?

He's got another two seasons on his deal after this season at 5.4 and 5.6 million. I'm not sure what sort of big man of quality could come back for him, tough to make a trade like that.

I haven't looked at exact destinations so maybe there is not a fit for a big man in return, but there are teams that could use a playmaker like Crawford I think.

But maybe there will be a buyout as well?  There was talk about that with Okafor.

I think they'll try to trade, fail to come up with anything and then pick up a buyout guy or two.

You want to take on an extra year of salary for a 33 year old backup SG for a 27 year old backup PF?

Pitino' s Celtics beat Jordan's Bulls in opening night too.  Don't read to deep into it.  As close to an enjoyable Lakers win as you'll find though.

You weren't actually rooting for the Lakers last night were you  ;)
The beatings will continue until morale improves

I'm not sure how they're going to have the top 10 defense you need to win a championship.  Their defensive personnel is underwhelming to say the least.  Their only above-average defensive big is DeAndre Jordan; all the rest are below-average.  It's going to be a field day for the opposition when DeAndre sits.  Their "center" has to come from a group of Griffin, Hollins, Jamison and Mullens.  Yeah, that's not going to stand up to the top teams in the West, or really any team.  Maybe they could weather the storm if they had stout perimeter defenders but they're just as weak there as well.

First game or not, I think they're pretenders.  Just because of Paul's greatness in close games, I think they'll win 50 games but they have zero chance of beating OKC, Houston or San Antonio in the playoffs.

They were 3rd in ORTG and 7th in DRTG last year.

Are they worse this year?

or

If the Celtics win their opening game.

Great question.  I think this game.

There was apparently a geyser of Doc hate just waiting to explode from the ground.

Another day, another Ogaju thread about Doc.

Do you mean here?  I think Laker fans will irrationally overrate their team after this game way more than Celtics fans will if we beat the Raptors.  Here it'd probably be a bit closer.

...honestly that's one of my favorite things about the win, the Laker fans are going to get their expectations much too high.
