I'll admit, I NEVER knew there was an NBA team out there that actually threw out confetti and streamers after a single playoff game... until now. I didn't even know it was a thing. Obviously you can if you win the Finals, but a single playoff game as early as Round 1?!?
But I guess as Milwaukee has shown us, it can be a thing.
I hear a lot of people think it's ridiculous and embarassing (on this blog, other Celtics media sites, even other fan bases), but I actually don't mind it. Am I the only one who just feels neutral about it?
Anyways, could TD Garden do that? Maybe we could intimidate opponents even more after playoff wins by releasing them :P
Or did I just bring shame to the people on here by suggesting this? :P
-
Hell no. C's don't even hang division or ECF championship banners. Milwaukee some scrubs.
-
HAHAHAHA...LOL..OMG...THAT'S FUNNY😂😂😂😂😂😂
Oh wait. You're seriously asking this about the Garden and Celtics doing this? Ahhhhhh. Errrrr....
OKAY, WAIT.... I SEE THE EMOJIS NOW. YOU WEREN'T BEING SERIOUS......HAHAHAHA...LOL...OMG...THAT'S FUNNY!!!! GOOD ONE. TP
-
Um...no thanks.

But who knows, I think some people wouldn't mind that. I'm neutral about it (not joking about that) although at first I did think it looked ridiculous.
Is it true though that other teams do this after playoff wins, and even after regular season wins?? I was just browsing through the Celtics reddit (don't have an account but just browsing) and people there were talking about it...
-
They might want to this season—I suspect there won't be many more Ws for this team.

I think Danny Ainge would laugh at this suggestion, along with many of the other Celtics greats. But I'm neutral to it. Does seem kind of bizarre though at the same time, especially this early in the playoffs. I saw them falling after Game 3 and was like 'wait what, what is this!'
-
What? Crazy talk! Crazy talk I say!
-
Means it's gonna be a lot of work for the clean-up crew. Which means more money to be spent on them clearing it up.
No would be an ideal answer.

Trust me, I don't want to believe me, but their play the last two games has been entirely uninspiring.
-
I must admit to a strong reaction to seeing the thread. Forgive the rules violation, but wondered what kind of fool wandered into CB this morning with such an idiotic idea - thought some fng came over from some other, lesser fan blog and brought a locker full of dumb with him.
Then I saw it was phantom and was confused.
Then I put my glasses on and figured out the yellow blobs are emoji's.
Now, I think the coffee is finally ready. I'll have some and settle down.
-
I’m calling for champagne celebrations after every win.
-
We're the Boston Celtics... we don't celebrate anything but championships.
I'll pass.
-
We used to do fireworks before every playoff game, til it started giving players asthma and fogging up the TV feed.

Didn't the Wizards do the same thing last year? I vaguely remember being confused about confetti after one if the games
-
No way it could ever work in Boston but I'm not going to judge other sports cities. We are VERY fortunate to be New England sports fans. It really is a big deal if Milwaukee can win a playoff series. These games carry a lot more weight because their definition of a successful season is different than ours.
-
Should only be when they win last win to get to finals. As they won the ECF. Then game on winning championship. Any other times its weird

Did they? I didn't know of that honestly.

While we're at it, how about champagne wishes and caviar dreams?

This poll though LOL.

Yeah, I could tell when Thon Maker had a block during the 3rd quarter of Game 3 and was celebrating like he'd just made the game winning block in Game 7 of the Finals.

I will admit though, that crowd is electric. But maybe it's because they don't often win playoff series lol so winning a game is huge there.
-
This poll though LOL.
A very solid 1:31:2 ratio... :P

NICE WIN!! NOW RELEASE THE STREAMERS AND CONFETTI!!!

Warriors had confetti and streamers falling after eliminating the Spurs from the postseason. ???
-
Just run the Gino clip and go home ;)

Wow. So it's even more common than I thought. :o

Now that's just sad

I just think it's strange I never knew this happened before. Like, obviously they do it when they win a Conference Finals series or a Finals, but in the 1st round?? After each playoff win? Wow have I been living under a rock all this time :P
Anyways though, Warriors did it after WINNING the series, so it's fine. I'm neutral about the whole thing so I don't mind, though others here have a strong opinion about it lol.

Judging by the poll I think its fair to say almost everyone here have a strong opinion about it happening here in Boston.

Whatever makes the fan base happy they paying. Clearly Boston fans don't need to be distracted with colored paper until the job is done.
-
Wait, can someone help me out. I was watching the online stream of Bruins Game 7, and I thought (note: THOUGHT) at the end there was some confetti that fell BUT the online stream ended right at that moment it seemed so idk. Did they actually have it or was it just a normal end?
-
This is stupid
-
DROP THE CONFETTI AND STREAMERS!! WE'RE MOVING ON!!
-
No confetti and streamers tonight.
The Bucks actually dropped those for their 3 home wins LOL fail.
Also for the "Bucks in 7" chants **** of here with that Bucks fans!

Man we missed a great opportunity with no streamers/confetti last night but I guess that's why we have 17 banners as we don't celebrate game wins we only celebrate championships.
-
No streamers and confetti? What is this madness?! We beat the freaking 76ers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals! ;D ;D ::)

With all the injuries we're facing and Tatum setting the rookie record (previously held by Bird), I agree. It's PARTY TIME! 8)

What about for tying games?
-
Wait. There was a vote for yes? That was an accident, right?

Sure.

Idk. I voted Neutral, so idk who voted Yes. :P
-
Will there be confetti if C’s win Game 4 on the road?
Maybe if, down by one point, Philly’s potential game winning buzzer beater is initially ruled good. 8)
I voted No for the poll
-
Can we get confetti at the Garden every time we tie a game? I'd love to see it 30 seconds into a game tied 2-2
-
I honestly haven't ever witnessed the silence after a home loss in an arena like today's. I loved it, particularly after the confetti crap prior to it.
-

Did not stop Danny from being OK with the gawd-awful dancers or the completely obnoxious PA guy screaming into the mic or the insulting loud music.
Never forget a game I was able to see on Easter Day 1985 in Boston. Celts vs Knicks. When the Celtics came out of the up the stairs for their layup lines, the PA Announcer simply said, in a moderate voice, "Ladies & Gentlemen, Your World Champion Boston Celtics" Sent chills thru me. Sublime game presentation for THE franchise of the NBA.

That's genius. Start playing Gino Time and throw out confetti.
The other team will be too stunned to execute efficiently at the end, leading to a Celtics win!

It's not confetti.
It's covfefe.

What a dang shame... no confetti/streamers??
Oh well, considering the odds likely against us, maybe we should celebrate (hopefully) each of our home wins vs. Cavaliers next series with confetti and streamers lol.

Unfortunately, the Celtics still do not pour confetti after their home wins against the Cavaliers.
But other teams still do. Like the Warriors for example!

Even the Warriors are dropping confetti after every game now lol.

Just another amateur NBA franchise not worth taking seriously.

Premature streamers and confetti.
