Bernard is a great weapon to have coming in off the bench.

I think he is going to be really big for Brazil in this tournament.

Not a penalty. Fred threw himself on the ground there. Fooled the ref.

Edit: Keeper was right there. Should have saved that. Second goal he should have gotten to and stopped.

Geeez...

Those might very well be two of the weakest goals of Neymar's career.

Croatia's keeper really blew it on both, in my opinion

And this is why I believe NBA refs get a bad rep from fans.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Not like this Brazil. You cant win like that.

I don't know if I should be mad at the Japanese referee or Fred who dove...

If you get that much of the ball on a PK, you gotta stop the shot

no real rooting interest here, but Brazil is really catching some breaks here

I think it was just an unlucky bounce. That would have been a save 9/10.

Typical home team gift from the ref...

Not at all impressed  by Brazil. Granted the opening game is difficult but I expected a bit more.  Absolutely no plays from the middle.

I don't think Croatia have been great. I can't really think of one time they even made Brazil's keeper make a save. Got a bit of luck with the own goal.

Brazil have steadily outplayed throughout. Got lucky with the penalty but it is a deserved lead.

I'm starting to believe Who is right.

I dont think this is home cooking at all. The first goal was all on Croatia. Keeper should have saved that. The second one was just Fred absolutely fooling the ref.

With that said, FIFA needs better referees.

I think Brazil could struggle against smaller nations or defensive minded teams. Teams that will sit back. Their attacking play isn't special. Not enough creative passers or one-on-one players. Very reliant on Neymar. Not enough creativity in the team outside of Neymar. Heck, Dani Alves might be the 2nd best creative passer in the team. So not strong in breaking teams down and could be vulnerable against teams willing to sit back and hit them on the break.

I do think Brazil will look much better against stronger teams though. Teams who look to get on the ball and attack Brazil. This Brazil team is made for counter attacking. That midfield of Luiz Gustavo, Paulinho and Oscar are great at shielding their defense and winning back possession. Perfect for counter attack football. Lots of pace throughout the side. Neymar lethal in open space.

So I think Brazil will look better in games against better opponents. In the knockout stages.

Wow.

Brazil will probably win gold in the Olympics, in the Diving Competition.

What a disgrace.

Hidden in this Brazil-Croatia drama, Mexico is once again getting a break.

Got a break qualifying, and getting a break since Croatia seems to be coming out of this game without a point.

They beat Cameroon tomorrow, which I think they can, they're in the driver seat.

Ah Mexico, you lucky dogs...

OMG.

Croatia's keeper is not a keeper. Gifted another easy goal. They deserve to lose this game.
