I saw this movie yesterday. I'd think if you are into sci-fi survival action then this movie is for you. Also vehicle and machine fans should love all the wild rides. Nice visual movie with very little story however. You can almost tell there is 10x more to the story than what is told. But in fairness how much story can truly be added without ruining the action. Great performances by the whole cast as well with what little acting they had. 3.75 out of 5 stars because it's not for everyone.

Did they manage to squeeze in Mel Gibson for a cameo role.
An Alfred Hitchcock split second kind of thing to pay homage to him?
No I don't think that was every considered.  A Gibson cameo would have taken people out of the story.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
My wife has never seen a mad max movie, does not like Sci-Fi, and does not really like action movies.

And she loved this movie.

She into horror/survival movies? Maybe reason she loved. The date I went with only likes action, comedy or romance and she said it was just Ok. I love all types of movies except horror. I find horror silly survival is good though.

Visually brilliant with strong female characters and spectacular action.

On the other hand, it is by far the most cartoonish and heavy-handed in its storytelling.  The first three were clearly set in a post-apocalyptic Earth.  This one might as well have been set on Arrakis or Vulcan.

This was an action movie that women can actually enjoy.

Heck, Furiosa was the true main character.

Yes, it was a bit heavy handed, but I can appreciate a blockbuster with some ideological heft to it.

Visually a stunning movie.  Quite a technical achievement.  Kept me entertained the whole way through.  Charlize Theron completely stole the show.

Tom Hardy doesn't have the charisma that Mel Gibson did in the role (weird attributing charisma to Mel, but there it is), but he didn't need to have charisma to work in the role.  He wasn't the star.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.
