Danny can't wait until the end of the season.

Once the season ends, it's either the Celts match the offer another team gives Brown or the Celts lose Brown and get nothing in return.

Celts will have no leverage in that scenario.

There are teams out there desperate enough to give Brown 30m per year.

So Ainge must figure it out on or before the trade deadline.
Sorry, but which teams are giving Brown that much???

If so, my guess is Atlanta

Really? I feel like JB would be a strange target unless one of Reddish, Hunter & Huerter flops this season

Jaylen would be a perfect target for his hometown Hawks.

Man I hope that doesn't happen.

Maybe. I just feel like he'd have to take quite a step in NBA production to warrant getting a big offer from a team that has a whole bunch of wings.

This is your reminder than in a pivotal game 4 against Milwaukee as a 21 year old, Jaylen Brown single-handedly kept the Celtics in the throughout, scoring 34 points, nabbing 8 rebounds, and getting 3 steals while being matched up with Giannis for much of his play.

For the questions about Jaylen Brown's ability to dribble or be a playmaker, here's a handy video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPjSf6fOB3o

check out the plays at .27 / 1.34 / 2.50 / 3.24 / 4.21 / 5.15 / 5.17 / 7.11 / 8.09 / 8.19 / 8.55 / 9.10

That doesn't include the normal open offense, where players attack closeouts with less than two dribbles.

Oh, and all these plays were from his rookie season.

Man the playoffs that season were a FUN ride.  Guys looked like they really wanted each other to play well.

MY guess is he earns a max contract this year anyhow, making the question moot.  Can Hayward also earn one is the bigger question.

Hayward was an All-Star when he came to Boston.

It's just unfortunate Hayward got injured and was out a long time.

This coming season Hayward is on a mission and Brad will give him every opportunity to return to All-Star form.

Jaylen is no James Harden... Harden already has the handles to keep defenses guessing... Jaylen has trouble with his handle, not to mention his small hands does not allow him to direct the ball where he wants it to go..

OKC made a big mistake in letting Harden go, Jaylen is still an enigma but is not hard to replace.

True.

Every year a lot of 6-6/6-7 players come out of the draft and every year there's always a wing player, with star potential, in the top 10 of the draft.

High level two-way wings are very difficult to replace. That's why they get paid a lot of money.

Yep we are comparing a borderline star to a superstar which is why I said it is not apt.

Exactly I may not be sold as Jaylen as a future cornerstone of this franchise but in no way do I think his production would be easy to replace. We would not be nearly as athletic of a team if we let Jaylen walk for nothing.

FWIW I really like the idea of pulling one of Atlanta's young wings like Hunter or Reddish in a Jaylen trade for both sides. It resets our clock on the FO needing to pay the prospect at that position and gives Atlanta the established wing coming into his own in the league to fill the lanes for Trae Young.

I could see a world where Reddish or Hunter are better long term fits with Tatum since Hunter projects to be low usage and Reddish has more ball handling, distributing ability than Jaylen did coming out of Cal. Either of them would become redundant on a Jaylen led Hawks team any ways.
