i think it is good that dallas gets as many early season wins in case something happens injury wise and always nice to see brooklyn adding to their loss total-

Been a while with this thread. Currently a 19th pick and the 5th seed in the west. To put things in perspective, the 9th seed in the west is currently Sacramento, who trail Dallas by 4.5 games.

I know it's early, but ouch.

Way better than if Mavs were 13-17 and in position to tank.   Best chance for a lottery pick is for the Mavs to believe they are in the thick of the playoff race and then watch them tumble after the trade deadline.

I'd take 13-17. Worst case scenario there is that they tank and we get their pick next year. Not sure what a 19th or 20th pick gets me this year and there's no guarantee they blow up after ASB. Given the options in this year's draft, I'd rather go for broke for an 8-11 pick.

I'd take 13-17 too.  I can't see Carslile going along with tanking.

I can't belive the incompetence of Kings of not finishing the job last night vs the Mavs. They were up by 2, ball in their hands and approx. 25 seconds to play. They keep the ball until the clock, Mavs decide they won't foul and all the stupid Darren Collison had to do is shot the rim and they would win. What he do? He made an airball giving the Mavs the ball on the side with precious 1,5 sec left. C'mon man, that is not enough of time for catching the ball, making the fake and relese the ball from the three point line. That is unbelievable in this modern day of basketball and the league should punish the Mavs by giving the W to the Kings.

Dallas doesn't seem like they are as good as their record, but they just keep coming up with wins.  Good coach and a lot of veterans.  Last nights game was a real nut punch.

They're the zombie team, just won't die.

While I've sort of given up on watching the Mavs, since there's little chance of a lottery pick, that was still very, very painful.

Just watched the Bucks edge Dallas.  Milwaukee looks like a good young team. MCW  played well. 15 points 8 assists 12 rebounds.

Memphis and Houston are hitting their straps, Utah keep winning games, and if Sac sit tight at the deadline and Portland continue playing hard, that could very well be very well be #10

I would say the chance that all that happens - 20%

Before the season started I had a bet (for lunch) with my colleague from work that the Mavs will not make to Playoffs. Obviously, as the season is going, I will probably lose my bet, but that is the least of my concern. The Mavs are playing a solid and extremely well coached basketball, which should be enough for them to reach the PO in a surprisingly weak western conference. Die you Dallas Mavericks, die :D :D :D

This is shocking but it shouldn't be. Mavs have been a good team with Dirk and Carlisle for a while, they win a lot of regular season games every season and every season it's pretty much Dirk and a bunch of solid/pretty good role players. Notice that when guys leave the Mavs they aren't that good but when with Dirk and coach they end up playing above their heads.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Crazy that Duncan Parker and Ginoblili have scored 11 points between them..
