Way to go, Kyrie.

Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving has been fined $50,000 by the NBA for violating health and safety protocols when he attended a private indoor party last weekend.

It’s some thing that he and Harden can bond over.

It’s a joke that these guys aren’t even missing game checks.  It’s like paid vacation for them.

Shams went on to tweet some more info.

Kyrie Irving has been docked two game checks for missing contests Tuesday and Wednesday during his five-day quarantine, sources confirm. He returns to team activities on Saturday.

Irving will forfeit salary for any games missed due to five-day quarantine period. He is eligible to return to Nets team activities on Saturday if he continues to test negative for coronavirus. twitter.com/ShamsCharania/…

Irving will tell you that money is money and that he is on a different level blah blah

League should investigate Nets/Irving last season for sitting him out on purpose. Just because KD was not there to hold his hand

Totally unprofessional athlete and employee

Let's hope that Kyrie torpedoes the Nets as well and removes an important piece blocking us from our path to the ECF

Sorry, couldn't resist.  Those are the stats from a player we could have had in the draft rather than trade for Kyrie...

(he plays for Thunder)

ok shame on me...

I try not to reference the past year gone by but the name of that year does speak to the clarity and exasperation of hindsight.  Of course the clarity of hindsight could make you happy each time you see Jayson Tatum (and eventually Romeo) take the floor.

Ainge should have traded Kyrie when he could  - he probably could have gotten something like Harris or Allen and Levert or Dineiddie for him. You could tell after a few interviews he was a nut job.

We played far better with Rozier that year anyway.

We probably wouldn’t have been able to sign Walker with cap space if we did trade him.  We might still have Rozier though.  So I guess it would be Rozier and maybe 2 of the players you mentioned, or Walker.

I do wonder if the Harden deal is leverage for Kyrie.

I mean we are only in year 2 of his deal and already last year he basically bowed out of the season and this year is AWOL on personal time.

only coming back because he is going to lose his salary. but I bet if he wasnt docked game checks you still wouldnt see him.

I also dont see Kyrie being happy with being #3 to Durant/Harden. I mean he couldnt handle being #2 to Lebron James or the ascension of Tatum/Brown.

According to Dakota Randall of NESN, Kyrie is reportedly willing to sit out the rest of the NBA season.

Kyrie Irving Reportedly Willing To Sit Out Rest Of Season

Kyrie Irving might have played his final game of the 2020-21 NBA season — because of course.

Irving is prepared to sit out the remainder of the campaign amid his growing frustration with the Nets, KRON-TV’s Jason Dumas reported Wednesday. The star point guard, who has missed Brooklyn’s last five games while the NBA investigates videos of his maskless partying, reportedly is irate with the organization for multiple reasons, including the hiring of head coach Steve Nash.

There also are reports indicating Brooklyn’s acquisition of James Harden was not approved by Irving, who reportedly was not answering the Nets’ calls as recently as Wednesday afternoon.

What a mess!

“The Brooklyn Nets were always interested in acquiring James Harden but the deal became imperative in light of the situation with Kyrie Irving,” Dumas tweeted. “Kyrie is willing to sit out the year if need be those close to him are saying.”

Again: What a mess.

Irving rightfully is receiving immense criticism from around the NBA. ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith even went so far as to call for the 28-year-old to retire — immediately. At this point, Irving, still one of the most exceptional talents in all of basketball, has lost the benefit of the doubt.

However, should Irving somehow get his act together and return to the court, the Nets could be an unstoppable force the likes of which the NBA never has seen. Brooklyn legitimately has three players on its roster who could score 50 points any night.

Of course, their success also would depend on Harden returning to something resembling a professional human being — another big “if.”

Nevertheless, Irving and the Nets are producing one of the more entertaining dramas in recent sports history.

I agree... biggest mistake of danny but we really cant blame him since it ill tarnish the reputation of the Cs at that time if they did traded him but in hindsight...definite should have gotten some asset back.
