BREAKING NEWS: Neymar agrees five-year contract at Paris Saint-Germain, according to Sky sources. #SSN
Neymar deal worth nearly £450m including wages and bonuses.
He clearly wanted out from under Messi's shadow. PSG wanted to make a splash and they got their guy. Still don't think they win Champion's league.
I still can't get my head around a deal that's over ¾ of a billion (Australian) for one guy.
He'd better hope he can flourish at PSG. Sure he's one of the worlds best, but that kind of money means that PSG is gunning for the Champions League, which I still think they don't win.

It's just an insane amount of money they threw there. Jesus. I think they get it back int two - three years from all the money Neymar is going to bring, but still.
Now, if they also get Alexis Sanchez, they're going to be insane. IDK if they are still in it on the Alexis stuff, but a Neymar, Alexis, Cavani attack with Veratti behind? That is going to be nuts. Still no defence, but man...
£450 million? For how many years, or is that not how these contracts work? I know nothing about soccer/football pay scales.

From what I've read, Alexis prefers Man City. Maybe Neymar changes that?
I think PSG have obviously improved, but they have other holes they need to address. They may develop the best attack in the world, but you still have to stop the other team from scoring.
wages will be £500K, A WEEK, AFTER TAXES
£450 million? For how many years, or is that not how these contracts work? I know nothing about soccer/football pay scales.
It's all inclusive. Salaries, bonuses and the transfer fee.
Basically, PSG had to pay about £100+ million (not sure about the full amount) to Barcelona, which is Neymar's release clause (think of it as a buyout) and had to sign him to a contract they agreed upon.
It's a LOT of money.

It's a LOT of money.
So it looks to be about £40 million a year for 5 years, plus the fee to his old club? And maybe some bonuses? Effectively £90 million a year for a player?
My goodness.
Okay, that's insane...(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DGPFCRLW0AA9geY.jpg)

I've heard of Neymar...
That's a CL chip worthy attack...but tbh Neymar's price is fair...especially when you ****ing pay 50 million for Nemanja ****ing Matic...what were you thinking Jose...I'd rather use Fellaini for one more year and use the cash to buy someone young...btw Arsenal had a good offseason imo, don't be that bearish on next season Arsenal fans
Yeah they will, also imo PSG is a real contender for the treble with that offense. Btw what's your prediction for the PL next year? That's a CL chip worthy attack...but tbh Neymar's price is fair...especially when you ****ing pay 50 million for Nemanja ****ing Matic...what were you thinking Jose...I'd rather use Fellaini for one more year and use the cash to buy someone young...btw Arsenal had a good offseason imo, don't be that bearish on next season Arsenal fans
Yeah, this I didn't get, especially coming from a guy who is complaining about how the prices are very inflated.
I think PSG gets a return of their investment in three years or so. They will sell a LOT of things Neymar touches.

United looks really good, especially if they resign Zlat. Don't you think Tottenham continues to improve though?Yeah they will, also imo PSG is a real contender for the treble with that offense. PL? I don't know. It looks as wide open as it could be. The big 4 teams brought out some cash and added great quality players. Everton has been busy, so is West Ham. Even Bournemouth looks well improved.
I think the Spurs drop out of the top 4 though, and I'm not just saying it as an Arsenal fan, but their transfer window has been disappointing. They haven't brought anyone, and they lost Kyle Walker. A lot of clubs got better.
I do. I think Chelsea falls out tbh, their players tend to fall complacent and they were starting to look vulnerable near the end of the season, United's 2-0 win looked like a 6-0 drubbing tbh. Also United are signing King Zlatan back. I think the top 3 would be 3 of United-City-Arsenal-Spurs while Liverpool and Chelsea fall off and will fight with Everton for the 5-6-7 slots. As a United fan I'm very optimistic.United looks really good, especially if they resign Zlat. We (Arsenal) are not selling Alexis to Man City, or any PL club, per Wenger. But this has not stopped us from selling our players to PL clubs before, so we'll see.
I do hope that PSG pounces on Alexis and we just cash in. I understand not selling him to a PL opponent, but if a Ligue 1 club wants him, sell right away.
That defence is really shady. Two young players in Aurier and Kurzawa on the full backs. They just signed Dani Alves, what does he have left? What does Thiago Silva have left? Marquinhos? Meh. Matuidi and Krychowiak can hold that midfield, I think that's solid. The back line is very shady, though
But check out their attack...
Lucas Moura
Julian Draxler
Angel Di Maria
Edinson Cavani
Marco Veratti
Hatem Ben Afra
And now you add Neymar to that mix... That's ridiculous...
In USD the transfer fee was a cool 262 million. The previous high was 47 million I think. Grand total of 530 million USD. It's good to be King I suppose.

Last summer MU payed for Pogba around 120m USD... It has been too long since 47m USD was considered a record fee.. 16 years ago juventus got 60m USD for Zidane
Ehem...we stole Aurier for 30 million euros (when Matic costs 50 million 30 million for Serge is insane). He clearly wanted out from under Messi's shadow. PSG wanted to make a splash and they got their guy. Still don't think they win Champion's league.

PSG now cannot afford Alexis after capturing Neymar. Bayern and Chelsea seem to have dropped out long ago, which means that Wenger can sell him now to City for roughly £50 million, or watch him walk at season's end for nothing. The obvious play is to swallow hard and cut the deal with City, but Arsenal supporters are so fed up with the pervasive lack of ambition by management that they truly might riot if that transaction occurred.
Seems to me that the best approach is to take the money for Alexis and then immediately spend it on one or two players (a defender or two would be a great idea) who would measuably improve the squad. By the way, Lacazette should eventually be excellent up front - finally a worthy #1 striker for this club.

I don't think a team can buy 2 quality players for 50 million nowadays...especially with Wenger always looking for young talent. Think they don't need a central defender though, Laurence and Gabriel are good options and Per Mertesacker is okay. My guess is that Wenger only tries to buy a replacement with that 50 million. Also Arsenal looks like a PL contender with a real striker tbh, don't think they need Man U type of signings like these 2 years. Then who will take Sanchez' place at the left? I don't know, but with £50 million burning a hole in your pocket, buy a forward to play on the left and a much needed central defender.
In the wake of the LA Rams deal, Kroenke can easily spend some dosh to take Arsenal to the next level, if he's willing...

La Liga is blocking the move. Can a league do that?
http://www.espnfc.com/soccer-transfers/story/3171271/la-liga-refuses-to-accept-psg-cash-for-barcelonas-neymar?sf103429605=1
La Liga is understood to have also explained that it is unclear on the origins of the money and that under its regulations only Spanish clubs have the guaranteed right to buy out a contract. The league has repeatedly accepted buyout clause deposits from foreign clubs. It would not be able to reject the money if Neymar himself turned up to pay it.
The league’s stance is delaying the transfer but will not halt it.
La Liga is blocking the move. Can a league do that?Yeah they can at the expense of getting ****ed by the UEFA. This is actually good for us PL supporters, this would screw La Liga teams a lot, if La Liga keeps on being an ass they would get banned from CL competitions and stuff which would in turn weaken the teams' revenues. This would just speed up our eventual dominance. I hope the PL will have 6 CL spots soon.

Also question for Arsenal fans: you guys paying for Mbappe? Dude is available for a reasonable price of 180 million euros. Selling Sanchez and Ozil should raise a good chunk of the fees, they're not staying anyways lol.is that a joke?.

i'm an arsenal fan, on strike thou, until Wangers gets sacked or until they burn him alive. Arsenal will never win anything again with him on helm, who cares about the FA cup when you finish 5th and get embarassed 10-2 against bayern, and every year another team(Man utd 8-2, Chelsea 6-0 etc...)
yeah, great addition, but IMHO Wenger cant get our players in the right mindset anymore, he lost the lockerroom last year in the last third of the year. Also question for Arsenal fans: you guys paying for Mbappe? No. Maybe if it's £80 million and 1 we could.
I think Ozil stays, from what I've been reading, it's likely he stays. I've been ready to move on from Alexis Sanchez since the start of the window, whatever happens, I'm prepared for it. I think the only thing I'm not prepared for is if he goes to Tottenham.
We need another CM, preferably that Leon Goretzka kid from Schalke that have been linked. We need a Santi Cazorla replacement, and it drives me nuts that we keep insisting on Thomas Lemar, when Monaco is playing the ultimate hardball. Also question for Arsenal fans: you guys paying for Mbappe? This doesn't help Barcelona at all.
The transfer window is closing, and the more they stall this, the less time they have to find a replacement. Even if they are successful, what makes them think that Neymar would be just fine to come back to the Nou Camp.
Well...imo you guys shouldn't be all gloom and doom...Wenger is now willing to spend for players and he offered 120 million pounds for Mbappe before iirc, only to get rejected. If he sells some players who he doesn't see eye to eye with like Sanchez, I think you guys are only paying 100 million euros for Mbappe with the rest being covered by the money you get from selling, which is an absolute steal for such a sensational young player. Arsenal does look good this season, I can see them winning a double (2 out of EFL Cup,FA Cup and EL), think that's a pretty good result for you guys after a down season. As for Wenger out he's retiring from few years later anyways, so let him do whatever he wants lol, dude is a legendary manager.yeah, great addition, but IMHO Wenger cant get our players in the right mindset anymore, he lost the lockerroom last year in the last third of the year. Also question for Arsenal fans: you guys paying for Mbappe? Nice! And I agree. I hope his last two years will include a transition year where we set up some sort of a structure that would take over when he's gone. I want him out, but we really don't have that kind of a structure in place for a new manager to come in. He does pretty much everything for this club.
I don't think anyone would sell to them, Barca has been doing this for years. Imo this is the start of the fall of La Liga, Barca won't be as strong and Real will follow after Ronaldo ages. Good for us PL fans, we're eventually getting 6 CL spots 8)La Liga is blocking the move. Can a league do that?

I read this earlierQuoteLa Liga is understood to have also explained that it is unclear on the origins of the money and that under its regulations only Spanish clubs have the guaranteed right to buy out a contract. The league has repeatedly accepted buyout clause deposits from foreign clubs. It would not be able to reject the money if Neymar himself turned up to pay it.
The league’s stance is delaying the transfer but will not halt it.
This doesn't help Barcelona at all.
The transfer window is closing, and the more they stall this, the less time they have to find a replacement. Even if they are successful, what makes them think that Neymar would be just fine to come back to the Nou Camp.
This is a huge blow to Barca, not only because of its potential effects on the pitch, but in a psychological sense, as well. PSG just swooped in, grabbed the future face of the club, and flew off with him in its talons. I'm guessing that this is going down quite well in Doha, especially given the current political confrontation between Qatar and the other gulf states.
It will be fascinating to see what Barca does with this big pot of money. Will some of it be utilized to pay off a bit of the nearly $300 million in debt it is carrying? Or will it all be used to fund incoming transfers?
I'll be seeing you singing Wenger's praises when Arsenal wins a double this year.
PSG made a great move, he will be worth of the money and Barca will still be Barca with Messi, that guy is unreal.

this years arsenal will struggle to make it into top 4. at least we don't have to worry about playing Real, Barca or Bayern this yearI'll be seeing you singing Wenger's praises when Arsenal wins a double this year. Also question for Arsenal fans: you guys paying for Mbappe? Paris Saint-Germain have agreed a €155m (£143m) fee with Monaco for Kylian Mbappé which could rise to €188m (£174m) with potential add-ons. They have agreed the terms of a five-year deal with the player, but are yet to convince Uefa that they will be able to comply with financial fair play rules if they sign the young Frenchman in the same window as paying €222m (£198m) for Neymar.
