The kids are more annoying to me by far.

Pets are unpredictable, and usually when people post pet stuff it's because they did something entertaining, silly generally out of the ordinary.  Sometimes these are actually entertaining and/or amusing.

When parents post stuff about their kids it's usually the same old boring milestones that ALL kids get to at some point.  So your kid took a step.  So did every other kid who came before them, and so will every other kid who follows.  Not exactly a grand achievement, so who the hell cares? The answer is "your family and friends care" - that's true, so please keep it in your inner circle of those who give a shiz.

When people treat their pets like actual kids and call them "fur babies" or "dog child." I find that so weird, especially when they also post pics literally every day. My sister-in-law takes her two dogs to "the babysitter" when she has to work...  :o

And I'm even a big dog lover, just in proportion.

what I find most annoying are the people who feel compelled to share every thought running through their head regardless of whether anyone would give a crap about what they think.

been on facebook for years and only really use it to chat with friends I don't see very often.
I think I've only posted one comment in that past 2-3 years which was about a time I was driving home from work and had to stop because 2 chickens were crossing the road.  If anything you experience in life compels a post be made it's when you see an actual old joke come to life right before you.

For me it's pictures of food. I don't need to see a picture of your dinner or lunch.
Second is pictures of the temperature, I know it's cold in the winter and hot in the summer.

People who treat Facebook like Twitter.

We don't need to see every thought & trip to the grocery store.  If you want to post everything on your mind and everything you're doing, do that on Twitter.   Don't flood my timeline with nonsense.  I've had to block multiple peoples' stuff from my timeline.

Also, the people who constantly post political or conspiracy theory stuff drives me nuts too.

The people on Facebook constantly during the week posting every single thing about their kids/ family and what everyone is doing , every minute, revealing they really do nothing at their job all day.

Any Facebook poster who takes a big stance on a controversial topic like abortion, gun control, supporting a political candidate by posting bad stuff about the opponent constantly , knowing you're personal posts are not changing anyone's mind and you just come off as annoying and someone I will probably not wish to speak to at a social gathering because you'll bring up hot topics to prove you are right.

I'm a dog nut job. Have a 2 and a half year old therapy dog. My wife and I baby talk the heck out of him. I talk to him and remind him he's my son. But at least I'm only 3/4 of the wY gone because I know people don't want pics of my freaking dog like I don't want daily pics of someone's kids. Lol

  • Be the posts you wish to see in the world.
Non-stop political memes are worse than either in my opinion.  Kid and pet stuff are pretty much just white noise posts to me (and occasionally genuinely cute!) but the kind of person who disappears down the meme hole is just insufferable.  Doubly so if they pull the "people are such sheep!  My eyes are open and I think for myself!  It's just a stunning coincidence that my unique individual opinions happen to coincide with a never-ending string of pictures someone else wrote words on for me!" routine.

I don't mind people who express their beliefs in their own words provided they're not being too vitriolic but the meme stuff just grinds my gears after a while.

I do the occasional kid picture (mostly for my family), but never post pictures of my pets.  I just don't see why anyone would care what my cat is doing.  The kid ones annoyed me more before I had a kid, but I get that now, but you can definitely overshare on those.  I guess oversharing is what annoys me the most.  The occasional picture or thought is fine, but all day long is just too much.
