POR win tonight: 8 POR vs 9 MEM play-in

POR loss tonight: 8 MEM vs 9 PHO play-in

Go Blazers!

So if Blazers win and then knock Griz out do Cs get 14?

Yes!

Win or go home for the Blazers tonight.

I really want the Blazers to get in...they have the best shot of those 3 teams to upset the Lakers.

If they can't beat the Nets tonight then they dont have much of a chance of beating the Lakers.

Blazers win. Griz need to win twice. If not, we get 14th pick. If they do we get 16th pick.

I like our odds.

Can someone explain what happened? Did we lose big time with that Memphis win? Still have lotto pick?

Blazers need to win 1 of 2 play-in games vs. MEM to drop MEM pick to #14

The 14th pick would have been guaranteed with a MEM loss since they would have fallen to 10th (with a POR vs PHO play-in), but things are still good since POR won. MEM now needs to beat POR twice to make the playoffs - and get the 16th pick; while POR just needs to win once - which puts us at 14.

Since we were never going to be able to do better than 14, I think every Cs fan would take this as a win. Going into the bubble, I imagine most everybody thought MEM would hold on to the 8th spot and need to be beat twice. I do feel for PHO, though. They were amazing - something to build on for next season, I guess.

I doubt that was a consideration, but by resting their players in the second half they did a serious dis-service to the Phoenix Suns.  Imagine Phoenix vs. Portland.  That would've been a fun mini-series.  I really admire what the Nets did.  They gave their all to try to beat the Blazers (and what a fantastic game that was to watch).  To me that shows a great respect for the game.  Bucks, not so much.

Did you guys forget Giannis was suspended by the league for that last game?

Maybe he wouldn't have played, regardless, but if anyone is to blame it's Giannis for letting his anger get the better of him and head butting an opponent.

We weren’t playing a team with their season on the line. Bucks have had the whole bubble period to rest their guys. I know Giannis was suspended but most of their starters played about 20 minutes.

Are you arguing that the Bucks should risk injuring their own players to aid outside teams?

I say, screw other teams.  Do what’s best for your franchise.

Its sportsmanship and integrity of the sport. It keeps the conspiracy theories at a minimum. In a  competition sport you want the consumers to trust your product.
