team needs a willing passer who can play elite defense with size. They don’t come more willing than Ben…lol

Simmons will be great addition to the Jays….elite defense, nice size, excellent playmaker. Willing passer on a team of ball hogs. That defense with the three of them.
Ben Simmons (...)

Defense would become a thing again with its switch-ability, ball movement would improve, along with pace, he could also be used in the paint too. He would be left to simply play his game.
Simmons would be #1 target as well. I'd be willing to trade anybody but the Jays for him. For instance:

Starting lineup after the trade
PG: Pritchard (great fit next to Simmons)
SG: Brown
SF: Tatum
PF: Simmons
C: Horford

Imo, we'd be the #1 favorites to come out of the East with this lineup. Not to mention, Simmons fits the time window of the Jays. The C's would be a legit contending team for years to come.

bench: MLE, bi-annual exception, possibly TPE, whomever we can get for Thompson (=bad fit next to Simmons), Romeo, Jabari, Semi, Grant, #45 + vet minimum guys. I bet plenty of ring-chasing vets would love to play alongside a big 3 of Tatum, Brown and Simmons.

Overpay. Losing Smart, Fournier, Timelord, Nesmith and 3 first rounders for Simmons is an absurd amount. That's a Harden-level trade package
