per stein , something along the lines- Rockets likely wont give up much for Rondo and rather pursue Dragic.

Rondo would not be a good fit for the Rockets anyways. You got a choice to hack a howard or rondo with less than 2 min

With Harden as the primary ball handler, Dragic would be a better fit to play off the ball as well.

It's not just about the fit. It's also about the Rox not wanting the Mavs to improve. They have a pretty intense rivalry.

Wright is who he is.  A guy that can be very efficient on a strong team playing under 20 minutes a game.

Those years when he was not on a strong team?  A efficient guy playing under 20 minutes a game.

You know who is worth more then a under 20 minute a game bench player and a 20 something draft pick?  Rondo.

I call BS they're trying to drive down our asking price. Dragic hasn't done squat rondo has and had big moments in the playoffs.

To charlotte for vonleh?
To washington for otto porter?

Other thoughts?

Dallas and Houston have continued talks today with Boston on a Rajon Rondo trade, league sources tell Yahoo. A lot of scenarios in play.

What's that mean a lot of scenarios In play??

Various 3-way trades is the easy answer.  Lots of different ways Rondo could wind up on one team or the other.

Rockets vs Mavericks for Rondo. Loser can deal for Green(Mavs) or Bass (Rox) and deny they were after Rondo and lost. This is great for everyone.

3rd or 4th teams involved, larger deal with Green or Bass or someone else, varying amounts and quality of draft picks depending on the young talent that's thrown in, etc

Yeah I agree - it's weird to see so much dispute when very few people are arguing that he's terrible/great, most opinions are squarely in the range you're describing.

Honestly, I've gotta hope that "Wright plus at least one 1st" was just a lowball leak by Danny designed to get other teams to think "Wait, we can top that easy!"  Even if the 1st/1sts would be late enough to be post-Dirk they're still not likely to amount to much, and we have a big pile of mediocre 1sts already.

If there isn't a recent lotto pick or future lotto pick coming (along with a later 1st round pick), no deal!

I am prepared for an atrocious return on the Rondo 'asset'. Not excited at all.

That said, with Smart and Turner, we'll stay competitive. If we go on a deal Jeff Green, I want my money back on NBA League Pass.

Lakers can't trade their pick this year, and any other pick of theirs isn't likely to be worth it.  Glad we passed.

They can offer the Houston pick this year or the right to swap their better pick which they would keep if it was in the top 5.
